http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/11179920.Man_jailed_for_biting_policeman/?ref=var_0 A comparatively decent sentence handed out. I'm a bit disappointed with his defence attributing it to ADHD, that's an insult to true sufferers.

One of the two officers caught in this integrity test was convicted of stealing a pen... Two South Wales Police officers have been convicted of theft after being caught in an undercover sting by their own force. Det Sgt Stephen Phillips stole £250 cash and Det Con Jason Evans took two pens, Cardiff magistrates head. The pair were found out when colleagues staged a fake undercover operation at a house in Neath. Evans, 44, from Cilfrew, and Phillips, 45, from Skewen, will be sentenced later this month. A former Metropolitan Police officer has lost an appeal to stop her pension getting slashed. Ex-chief inspector April Casburn (54) was jailed for misconduct in a public office due to her part in Operation Elveden – taking funds from the News of the World for inside information. After 15 months in prison, she started the appeal process against a decision to cut her police pension by 40 per cent. Judge Charles Wilde, sitting at the Old Bailey, denied her request and said: "Even with a reduced pension the appellant is likely to be better off than many others." The decision to reduce Ms Casburn's pension was made by the pensions supervising office at the Mayor's Offic…

I have not seen oldcopper posting recently, but I wonder if he got to see the two televised debates between these two. I must admit, my opinion alone of course, but I thought Farage ran rings round Clegg. As is often said, you can tell when he is lying, his lips move. For the European elections at least, he will have my vote (rightly or wrongly).

https://www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/newsroom/gratuitous-criticism-will-not-help-the-police-to-improve/ - So what went wrong in PC Patricks case, he put his case forward and was hounded out of the Mets by vindictiveness after he spoke out about Crime Figure recording. The last para - those that felt nervous about speaking out, afraid of the 'mighty ACPO', Pc Patrick had every reason to be afraid of them.

This video is well worth a watch. I believe the teacher also taught at my previous school a few years back. Throughout the interview he believes that the journalist is a police officer until he questions him at the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1gcTQHZlJc http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/10881700.Sex_trap_supply_teacher_from_Accrington_found_guilty/?ref=ms

The much-heralded falls in crime over the past decade may not be real, a senior officer has admitted. Assistant Chief Constable Jon Boutcher, the national policing spokesman on surveillance, said he was convinced that ‘crime isn’t down’ and had instead shifted online. He said criminals were simply carrying out different offences that were not being combated by police forces. He also made a damning assessment of the police’s ability to tackle cyber-crime, such as internet card fraud and online scams. Mr Boutcher said: ‘Everyone tells me crime is down and we are very good in the police at the moment. ‘I am convinced that crime isn’t down – it is just being done in a co…
