The warning arrived after the terror threat level in the UK was raised to "severe"(Getty) Police officers have been told to be vigilant "for their own personal safety" following a rise in the terror threat from "substantial" to "severe". The Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) offered advice to 130,000 officers across the UK as the threat towards police has "heightened". Home Secretary Theresa May announced in August the terror threat level in the UK had risen to "severe", suggesting an attack is "highly likely". May said the reason for the increase was due to "developments in Syria and Iraq where terrorist groups are planning attacks against the West". The a…

Kent's Police and Crime Commissioner is being investigated over whether she was legally insured to drive when she was involved in a car crash. The accident, on 16 September involving Ann Barnes's Mercedes, was referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) by her own office. Her vehicle collided with another car and hit a tree in Princes Road, Dartford. Nobody was seriously hurt. The investigation will be overseen by IPCC Commissioner Cindy Butts. The accident was referred to the police watchdog on 26 September. "Following an assessment it has been decided that an independent IPCC investigation is necessary to determine whether Ann Barnes may have co…

Today is the 29th anniversary of the horriffic murder of PC Keith Blakelock, killed during a riot on the Broadwater Farm estate in London. PC Blakelock had been assigned on the night of his death to Serial 502, a unit of 10 constables and one sergeant dispatched to protect firefighters. When rioters forced the officers back, Blakelock stumbled and fell. Surrounded by a mob of 30–50 people, he received over 40 injuries inflicted by machetes or similar, and was found with a six-inch-long knife in his neck. He was the first constable to be killed in a riot in Britain since 1833, when PC Robert Culley was stabbed to death in Clerkenwell, London. Trevor Stratford told a rep…

I've thought about this issue before and I'm surprised it isn't more widespread.

http://www.policeoracle.com/news/Criminal+Justice/2014/Jul/30/Officer-charged-with-Azelle-Rodney-murder_84882.html Lets all hope that there is good news for E7 at the end of this. I bet Owers and the IPCC are loving every minute of this, they have got what they have been after for a long time. I wonder how many FO's (including protection officers)will hand in their tickets as a show of support for E7. I wonder if Michael Mansfield QC will volunteer his services for free to defend E7.(about a Cat in Hells chance as E7 isn't some toerag).

This is an update to the news earlier this year where 3 wealthy Arab women where attacked in their hotel. It does not answer how the attackers got into the room though as hotel doors are suualy quite thick. It's a shame they cannt be deported to the UAE, they will get an more appropriate punishment there.
