A senior PSNI officer has told UTV that an online video which appears to show police leaving a woman lying in a bus lane in Londonderry "looks bad" and is cause for serious concern. The video was filmed at John Street in Derry on Monday by members of the public across the street and was posted on social media networks, where it has sparked outrage. The woman was lifted to the side of the road by the officers and is seen lying in the bus lane on John Street in the foetal position as the officers appear to drive off. Having watched the video, which is now the subject of an investigation by the Police Ombudsman, PSNI Assistant Chief Constable George Hamilton has told UTV…

Post the fatal shooting in Canada of the soldier on guard at the memorial, a report of officers being attacked by a male wielding an axe. The officer survived, though the attacker shot dead and an innocent woman bystander shot in the back. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-29753347 We are right to remain vigilant whilst on patrol. Perhaps management may look at the single - oops 'safer' crewing policy in the near future.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-29706890 So who is right? Her Majesty's Inspector of Prisons and the prison union, people who work in prisons with prisoners day in and day out, or a man who sits behind a desk in Whitehall and maybe visits one prison per year to be presented with model prisoners. I suppose though that he has an over riding interest in trotting out the party line that cuts aren't affecting prisons, just like May continues to say that cuts to police aren't affecting PCs or the public. I presume that a knock on effect with be that prison based rehabilitation is also being affected meaning that more prisoners will leave with out having their drug pr…

The Metropolitan Police is to pay more than £400,000 to a woman whose child was fathered by a man who she did not know was an undercover police officer. The unprecedented payment comes after a legal battle with women who say they were duped into relationships with officers who were spying on them. Scotland Yard says it "unreservedly apologises for any pain and suffering". The woman told BBC News she had received psychiatric care after learning the officer's real identity. The Met's payment of £425,000 is part of an agreement for her to drop her legal action alleging assault, negligence, deceit and misconduct by senior officers. Continue reading the main story “ Sta…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-29587711 This proves that the UK has won the race to the bottom. The 'economic recovery' is nothing more than smoke and mirrors, and only those in the top rate tax bracket have shared in this recovery. Funny how Mr Osborne has recently been preparing us for a slowdown in growth rates due to 'external factors', yet it was exclusively Labour who caused the world economic meltdown! Glad to see Mr Farage has been included in the election debates, should make interesting viewing. I bet Nick Clegg is bricking it!
