http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cumbria-30929046 The force is planning to cut another 155 with the CC and a local Labour MP expressing concerns. I was particularly taken by the CC comment that the force is about as small as it can get no matter how low or high the crime levels. I wonder how many other forces are in similar positions. I think that the CC is the 3rd or 4th one now expressing concerns about the cuts, so given that these Yes men are feeling the squeeze maybe we are at a stage where they can't carry on.

Red deer are one of several common deer species in the north of England Two police officers who bludgeoned an injured deer to death have been removed from firearms duties after being found guilty of gross misconduct. PCs Andrew Pittilla and Brian Clewlow were sent to destroy the animal, which was believed to have been hit by a vehicle at Tanfield Lea in June. They struck the deer several times with a large blunt tool, believed to be a crowbar, rather than using a firearm. Durham Police said the officers had brought "discredit upon the force". A misconduct hearing was told that the officers, both of whom have extensive firearms experience, were sent to deal with an …
