http://www.westbriton.co.uk/8203-Police-crime-commissioner-unhappy-David/story-25949418-detail/story.html - Perhaps if Hogg had not wasted £206,000 on Consultants, and stayed at the Police HQ instead of D & C having to pay £650 for him to stay in the Marines Camp at Lympstone they would have more money. He thinks he is too grand to stay at the Police HQ.

Julian Cole suffered a broken neck and has brain damage A chief constable says it is too early "make assumptions" over who was at fault when a man was left paralysed after his arrest outside a nightclub. Julian Cole, 21, suffered a broken neck when he was restrained outside Elements nightclub, in Bedford, in May 2013. The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has apologised for how long its investigation is taking. Colette Paul, of Bedfordshire Police, said she understood frustrations over slow progress in the inquiry. "We all want to see the investigation concluded and any perpetrators brought to justice," she said. "But whilst the investigation is unde…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-30889846 But remember the government mantra 'CRIME IS FALLING....POLICE DO MORE WITH LESS' I think George Orwell expressed it well

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2734380/Official-crimes-figures-failing-report-four-million-frauds-Number-offences-Britain-year-50-details-included.html I know this is the DM and, therefore, hype is a key aspect of its reporting. However, it does demonstrate the old adage "Lies, damned lies and statistics" appears to prevail in the reporting / accounting for crime in UK. The ONS excuse that the 4 million crimes go unreported because of "conceptual problems" seems a bit like an excuse dressed up as a reason. Mind you, it looks like the "front line" emphasis might need to be re-focused on fraud and the like?
