Some staff will be relocated to the force's HQ at Ripley. Derbyshire Police is to close 58 police buildings, including stations and offices, in its latest round of cuts. The number of officers will be reduced by 64 over the next year with more reductions in 2016 and 2017. Police and crime commissioner Alan Charles warned that some types of crime will "in all likelihood" increase. Chief Constable Mick Creedon said the force had to prioritise officers over buildings. Police woman sentenced after selling two dangerous horses as "never putting a hoof wrong". She was given a 12 month suspended sentence. Pc Carrie Vinson of Gloucester Police resigned after being fined and ordered to pay £10,000 in court costs and £2000 in compensation, plus a tagged curfew for 10 months, after selling two dangerous horses, saying they never pout a 'hoof' wrong. One of the horses threw it's rider causing her to break her arm. She resigned before disciplinary action could be taken against her.

Baroness Uddin called Faruk Ali's treatment "outrageous victimisation" A peer has criticised the "callous, racist attitude" of two police officers to a "vulnerable and disabled man". Baroness Uddin made the comments in the House of Lords on the case of Faruk Ali, who has autism. Bedfordshire PCs Christopher Thomas and Christopher Pitts were found not guilty of misconduct in public office after chasing Mr Ali in a police car. The pair are currently subject to an Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) investigation. PC Neil Doyle died on 19 December while he was on a work's Christmas night out More than 400 mourners have paid their respects to an off-duty police officer who was killed in Liverpool. PC Neil Doyle, 36, died and two of his colleagues were injured on a night out in the city centre on 19 December. Within a floral tribute, his wife wrote: "Good night and God bless, babe. My heart is with you always. All my love, broken-hearted Sarah xxx". The service was held at Liverpool Parish Church Our Lady and St Nicholas, where the couple got married last July. CCTV of bystander tackling machete wielding robber A police officer has been threatened with a machete during a raid on a jewellery store. City of London Police and armed officers were alerted to the incident on Liverpool Street just after 14:30. Three men on mopeds reportedly used sledgehammers to smash the shop windows before fleeing. Officers chased three of the men to a car park in Gravel Lane where one man was arrested. The two others remain on the run. No I do not know the Sergeant who backed the stupidity, but, others above him and the CPS have obviously gone along with it, until it reached court when they dropped it like a hot potato when he pleaded not guilty. The alarming thing is that he was taken to court after refusing to accept a "Police Caution" for damage, which would have been a gross abuse of the caution system.
