http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11...0-year-low.html The jailing of a notorious criminal family has reduced crime rates in a county to a 20-year low. I wonder how often the Police have brought them to court prior to this conviction. And how many times they have been allowed off with a warning, or something equally as ineffective? But WD the Police getting this lot out the way!! :smiley_notworthy: :smiley_notworthy:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8103731.stm A serving detective whose anonymous blog carried criticisms of government ministers and police bureaucracy has been disciplined by his force. The action, by Lancashire Constabulary, follows the exposure of the blogger "Night Jack" by the Times newspaper. He was unmasked after the High Court rejected his plea that his anonymity be preserved "in the public interest". Lancashire Constabulary said the blogger, named as Det Con Richard Horton, had received a written warning. A spokeswoman said: "The commentary in the blog is indeed the work of a serving Lancashire detective and clearly the views and opinions expressed are those…

A member of Lancashire Police staff has been given a warning after 2,115 speeding tickets had to be cancelled. The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said the failings in the force's Central Processing Unit resulted in a "total shambles". It found that paperwork was not completed properly for speeding fines, leaving them open to challenge. One person was given an oral warning and a second has been moved from the unit, the IPCC said. The inquiry focussed on forms which proved speeding notices had been posted to drivers. From July 2006 to October 2007 about 60% of the certificates produced daily from the proof of postage forms, were found to be missing…

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/...r-controls.html Riot police massed around the entrance of the Channel Tunnel today following threats by protesters to storm it along with UK-bound illegal migrants. This country must have something i`m missing. It`s mostly cold, rainy, little money to be had unless your an MP. Your property can get broken into at almost anytime, like the house did across the road from me, just as i left this site, last night. Mind you, that was great from the Police point of view. A alarm went off i called Police, went outside to see if anyone was attempting to gain access to the property, the Police crept up behind me, asked me what i was…

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11...ctims-firm.html A burglar stole a mobile phone from the house of a taxi driver - and then was caught when he used it to call the victim's firm to order a cab. Some people are beyond me, how daft can people be.

Prison chiefs are reviewing how staff restrain inmates at a young offenders' institution (YOI) after an "unprecedented" number of injuries. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8113705.stm I am confident in using force and justifying it but i cant imagine having to deal with violent offenders constantly in a prison environment. Hopefully this will be axamined and Practical advice and training will be prioduced from this review, it will be the first time ever but you can live in hope.

Police in Shropshire have launched an appeal after a video clip showing a dangerous go-kart stunt was posted online. The video shows youths riding the broken kart, which had no rear wheels, along a country lane. It was dragged by a car along the narrow road at speeds of up to 40mph attached by no more than a thin piece of rope. Police have slammed the stunt, saying it risked the lives of those taking part as well as other road users. "This behaviour is clearly extremely dangerous," a spokesman for Shropshire Police said. A 22-year-old man from Bridgnorth is believed to have uploaded the clip to YouTube. In the two minute clip, a first youth can be seen waving his ha…
