http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11...ht-privacy.html Escaped prisoners who are on the run will not be named in case it breaches their right to privacy, civil servants have ruled. One does wonder how far this Human rights thing will go. Will we end up going down the lines of, a person who murders, robs, rapes, or any other crimes he/she may get involved in. Will their names be kept a secret? Will vehicle driving be a part of one`s human rights, if so, then just because one does not get Insured, or MOT`d Taxed, does not mean they cannot drive a vehicle. Doing a ton down the motorway, or indeed any other road, will the Police be allowed to stop this person, it ma…

A Derbyshire policewoman and special constable have been convicted of deception over an off-duty car crash. At Stafford Crown Court, Diane Reeves-Emery, 38, and Charlotte Eccles, 23, from Swadlincote, both denied obtaining financial advantage by deception. Eccles said that she had supported claims that Reeves-Emery, from Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, was driving as she was scared of her former lover. Eccles, a special constable and Reeves-Emery, a Pc, will be sentenced later. Harassment claim The court heard that the couple had been arguing when their car hit a kerb in April 2006, causing more than £3,000 of damage. Eccles was the driver at the time but Reeve…

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11...ice-chiefs.html Police chiefs are in line to win a competition for the most ridiculous use of the English language after writing a 102-word sentence which 'defies understanding'. Any idea what this Officer was saying? "Marie Claire, spokeswoman for the Plain English Campaign, which lobbies for better and clearer use of words, said whoever drafted the paper should 'hang their head in shame'." Wrong, the person who wrote this can write English, just because we may or may not understand it, does not make it a bad paper!!

See story here I'm a little surprised nobody has pasted a link to the news yesterday that Jack Straw has denied Biggs the chance of release. I've never been a fan of the ex Home Secretary, but I have to say I think he has got this spot on. Regardless of Biggs' age and illness, the fact remains it is he who chose to evade justice for so long, and he has to take the consequences. No sympathy I'm afraid.

Times Online Boyo in the hood With all these expenses claims for porno films, duck islands and half a handbag, it is the blithe arrogance which annoys more than the sums of money. The chief constable of north Wales, Richard Brunstrom, has just donated £3,450 to a bardic poetry festival for a special wooden chair upon which is engraved a spider, which is Brunstrom’s, er, druidic emblem. Needless to say, he has not paid for the chair himself – it’s come out of police funds (ie, your pocket). Hardliners might well argue that the only sort of chair which is of use in crime prevention is one wired up to the mains. But even if you don’t go that far, it is…

Police have let us down, say three in four Britons in damning Whitehall survey Three quarters of the population believe the police have failed to get to grips with anti-social behaviour and drink-fuelled violence, a damning Whitehall survey showed yesterday. It found police forces and other public services are said to neither listen to what people say about crime and rowdiness nor do anything to stop it. The poll of more than half a million adults also suggested that councils are out of touch, unpopular, and take too much of residents' money. The inquiry, conducted in more than 300 council areas, found only a quarter of respondents thought police were willing to li…
