Chris Wilby’s widowed mother had agreed to give him £1,000 to pay his ex-wife part of a divorce settlement, and handed him a blank cheque. Prosecutor James Neary said Gwyneth Wilby, in her 70s, received daily help from social services and was effectively housebound because of her health. She gave her bank card and PIN to her son to obtain cash for shopping. But, unknown to her, in February last year he…

The Daily Mail has just posted the below story, and this time they've made a right mess of it. According to them, the male was punched 3 times to the head, but the video that they've posted of the incident clearly shows his shoulder being punched! It's only just gone on their web site, so there's no comments as such, but it will be interesting to see how this one goes, as they've clearly got it wrong! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11...pect-times.html Mobile phone video shows police tasering and punching suspect three times A video taken on a mobile phone shows how police repeatedly tasered and punched a man as they arrested him in a crowded town centre…

No inquiry into police car death The police watchdog has dropped an investigation into the death of a 72-year-old man killed by a police car answering a 999 call in east London. He was hit by a marked car at Ridgeway in Chingford on Saturday afternoon. The man's death was referred by the Metropolitan Police to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC). However, the IPCC said it was satisfied that the vehicle was sounding its siren and flashing its lights, and had been travelling at an acceptable speed. Is there any difference in the way the court will be run, looks like another cost cutting exorcise to me. Plus i was kind of looking forward to serve on a jury, never yet happened.

Police blogger 'to be identified' Police officers 'Night Jack' is a serving detective constable who writes anonymously The High Court has refused to preserve the anonymity of an award-winning policeman who has blogged about the force and government ministers. Copper stolen from police station Two men have been arrested after copper was stolen from a new police station which is being built in West Lothian. A security guard chased the alleged thieves at the new Civic Centre in Livingston before calling for help from police officers on bikes. The officers were able to go down lanes which were not wide enough for police cars. Police said two men, aged 21 and 17, were the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edinbu...ast/8109455.stm Good result!
