Now i admit it was a hot day today, but i saw 5 PCSOs leaning, slouching against the railings near Argos in Birmingham City Center, now you may so what its a trivial issue but it really doesnt look professional These PCSOs should be fit but 2 of the ladies looked really knackered, they do not inspire confidence BTW i saw plenty of police officers on bikes and on foot who looked really lively and inspired confidence Am i being harsh?

A knife-wielding burglar got the shock of his life when he was left battered and bruised by a 72-year-old former boxer. Gregory McCalium, 24, was punched twice in the face after breaking into the home of Frank Corti. The OAP said he was compelled to defend himself and his wife after McCalium threatened them at their home in Botley, Oxford. McCalium had thrown a knife at the pensioner - which missed. At that point the 72-year-old used his boxing skills to stop the would-be attacker in his tracks. "I had to restrain him before he could go and get the knife," Mr Corti told the Oxford Mail. "I was scared when he first threw the knife, but most people would have acted in …

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11...Mecca-pray.html A police force today announced plans to issue all Muslims it detains in cells with a compass - so they can face towards Mecca when praying. Anything else are Police going to hand out? Like my religion says, all dubious Coach drivers should be given a second Tacho, this will ensure their safe passage passed VOSA. No making fun, i now pray to my Tacho 3 times a day.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/dorset/8123911.stm A policeman's 10-year-old son has been honoured for his bravery in helping to save the life of his father's German Shepherd police dog. The story itself is not that interesting, thou WD that boy, my concern is, the devaluation of awards, which seem to be given out willy nilly.

An 82-year-old woman is fighting for life today after being repeatedly stabbed during a random attack... Police say there was no obvious motive for the horrific stabbing - but suspect the knifeman may have been a psychiatric patient released into the community. The woman was on her way home from a shopping trip at a local Tesco store when the maniac knifed her in broad daylight. Afterwards she staggered to a bench on Fortunegate Road, where she was found "covered in blood". An air ambulance landed in the street and took her to the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, East London, where her condition is described as "critical". The woman is white and lives locally with…

Police face frontline cuts under Treasury savings targets Police forces must cut spending by £480 million this year, prompting fears that officer numbers may fall when increasing unemployment could bring a surge in crime, The Times has learnt. Forces are reviewing their financial plans after the Treasury raised “efficiency savings targets†from 3 per cent to 4 per cent in the Budget. The annual increase in Whitehall funding for policing was 2.7 per cent and was eaten up by pay rises. The Metropolitan Police, the largest force, is planning cuts of £366 million over the next three years despite having to prepare for the 2012 Olympic Games. Staff costs account for …
