Philippa Reynolds Constable Police Service of Northern Ireland Died 9th February 2013, aged 27 During a night shift she was on patrol in an unmarked, armoured, police vehicle, with two colleagues when a stolen car went through a red light on the Limavady Road, hitting the police vehicle. Philippa was a rear seat passenger and was killed instantly, her two colleagues were also injured. Philippa had joined the Police Service of Northern Ireland after leaving teaching, she had two years service. She is survived by her mother, father and two sisters.

Noel Gerard McCarthy Police Sergeant Metropolitan Police Died 9 February 2008, aged 43 Killed in a motorcycle accident, whilst travelling to report for early turn duty at Hammersmith, when he crashed on the M1 motorway near Staples Corner. Noel had completed 24 years service on uniform patrol and the Territorial Support Group and since 2003 he had been a member of the Mounted Branch, based at Hammersmith. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, his parents and two younger brothers.

Daniel John Cooper Police Constable Wiltshire Police Died 1 February 2010, aged 22 Died in a road traffic accident, whilst responding to an urgent call for assistance from officers dealing with an incident during the evening at Trowbridge, when his police patrol car left the road and collided with a tree near Bradford-on-Avon. Dan joined Wiltshire Police in May 2007, following service as a Special Constable and was stationed at Trowbridge where he worked as a response officer. He was a single man and is survived by his parents and brother with whom he lived.

PC Steve Williams of BTP Pan-London Response, Finsbury Park died last night at sea in Brighton, the circumstances aren't fully known yet however his partner Lauren, serving BTP officer at the same station has set up the following page to raise money for the RNLI who battled so much to save him in the early hours of this morning. Robert George Walsham Police Sergeant Essex Police Died 29 January 2008, aged 48 Killed in a road traffic accident while travelling to report for duty at Colchester when his motorcycle was in collision with a car near East Bergholt, Suffolk. Bob had 26 years service, working with the Metropolitan Police before joining Essex in 1989; he was the Colchester Town Sergeant and was commended 3 times for his work. He is survived by his two sons, his mother and brother, and his fiancee and her four children with whom he lived in Suffolk.

James Alexander Drew Police Constable Hampshire Constabulary Died 22 January 2009, aged 27 Fatally injured in a road accident while travelling to report for early morning duty at Alton when his car left the A31 road and struck a tree near Winchester. James had joined the police in November 2003 and was stationed at Alton Police Station where he worked on the Targeted Patrol Team. He is survived by his parents and elder brother.

George Adam Small Police Constable Metropolitan Police Died 21 January 2009, aged 29 Killed in a road traffic collision whilst travelling home from duty at Catford late at night when his motorcycle was in collision with a car at Bromley. George was appointed to the police in January 2003 and since 2007 had worked as a Traffic Officer based at Catford Traffic Garage. He is survived by his wife and son; his parents, two sisters and brother.

Diane Christine Donald Detective Constable Strathclyde Police Died 21 January 2009, aged 40 Killed in a road traffic accident while travelling to report for duty in the early morning when her car left the carriageway of the M8 motorway in icy road conditions and struck a tree near Glasgow Airport. Diane was appointed in 2001, after service as a prison officer; she became a detective in 2007, stationed in Glasgow and was seconded to Crime Division Operations at Govan. She is survived by her father and brother.

Christopher Hart Police Constable Greater Manchester Police Died 12 January 2008, aged 40 Died in a road traffic accident, while responding to an emergency incident just before midnight, when the police van he was driving was in collision with a car at Openshaw; the police vehicle overturned and he sustained major head injuries from which he died instantly. Christopher had just over four years service and was a response officer based at Bury; in 2005 he had been awarded a Divisional Commander's commendation for his professionalism and calmness in helping to rescue a child from a violent incident. Karen PatersonDetective ConstableCambridgeshire ConstabularyDied 6th January 2012, aged 43 Karen was fatally injured in a car crash as she travelled in to work to report for duty. She was stationed at Thorpe Wood police station in Peterborough. Karen also worked out of Bridge Street police station as a schools liaison officer. She joined Cambridgeshire Constabulary in 1997 after transferring from Surrey Police which she joined in 1987. She is survived by her husband and two sons.

Andrew Bramma Police Constable North Yorkshire Police Died 5th January 2013, aged 32 Whilst responding to an emergency call, the van he was driving left the road and struck a tree in West Tanfield, near Ripon causing fatal injuries. Andrew was a neighbourhood officer in th Harrogate Safer Neighbourhood Team. He joined Greater Manchester Police in 2008 working as a response officer in Rochdale, in August 2012 he transferred to North Yorkshire Police. He is survived by his wife and their two young children.

Andrew James Stokes Detective Constable Greater Manchester Police Died 3rd January 2012, aged 46 Andrew was on duty when he collapsed and died of heart failure. He originally joined Merseyside Police, working St Helens Divsion at Prescott before transferring to Greater Manchester Police. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Anthony 'Tony' Sweeney QPMPolice ConstableWest Yorkshire PoliceDied 27th December 2012, aged 58 Having taken ill whilst on duty he was sent home from work during his early shift. Whilst driving home to Harrogate he pulled over and suffered a fatal heart attack. Tony was a neighbourhood officer in Roundhay, Alwoodley & Moortown team having served with West Yorkshire Police for nineteen years. In 2001 he was awarded the Queen's Police Medal for his work in the community. He is survived by his wife, son, daughter and grandchildren.

William Arthuer BarkerPolice ConstableCumbria Constabulary Died 20 November 2009, aged 44 At night during severe weather and flooding across the county, the officer was directing motorists to safety off Northside Bridge, Workington, which was in a dangerous condition, when the bridge was destroyed by the flood and he was swept away and killed, his body found on a beach at Allonby that afternoon.
