hi, just wondering if anyone knows what the yellow button is for in police cars? it is on a leaver on the steering wheel?

Is it only baton and cs that need annual refreshers or does cuffs require it to. And does anyone now if both are done (or 3) done on the same day or not. And if they have expired and I am waiting to go on a refresher am I allowed to carry the above PPE on duty or not. Thanks guys.

Hello everyone, I'm just wondering, when you apply for the Specials, how many core competencies do you have to fill in?, and when you get to the interview stage are you allowed to give the same examples as to what you have stated on the application form or do you have to give different examples?, do they also throw random competencies at you or the same what is on the application form?. Also is it better if you give more than one example to each competency or are you only allowed to give one? Another question I want to ask is, do you need the examples from work or can you have them from other things?, the reason i ask is because I already have a few examples from thin…

Hi All, I have searched the forum but cant seem to find it. I have been a Special for nearly two years now and been IP since 10 months of Service. I am interested in joining the OSU Specials Team. Anyone any ideas who to contact or what the process is? Any help greatly appreciated.

Hey all, I will be moving house in January and will be on the border of both South and West Yorkshire and so I need to decide whether to apply to either WY or SY. Could any WY Police Reg/Specials tell me what roles Specials are given in WY? Are they treated the same as Regs? Do you enjoy working as a Special? And anything else you feel is relevant. Hi all, As the time draws closer and indeed the chances of getting officially in are looking more and more in my favour, my thoughts are with the training. I have been led to understand that training is tailored around the 9 to 5 workers and take place on Saturdays and Sundays, is this correct? Over how long (how many weekends) does the training take? I work a 24 hour shift pattern over a 7 day period. I've spoken to my employer and they are being quite understanding about it but have said I may not get all Saturdays required off for training, are there provisions for this within the force? I'm clear for all Sundays as I am not obliged to work these. Any info apprec…

Doing a 1500-0000 and didn't finish until 0400 crazy had 10 mins to eat and even that kept getting interrupted. Let me know your div and what it was like for you! .

Hi All, I'm wanting to buy a new radio earpiece as the one i recieved with the rest of my kit is really uncomfortable after a while. Whats the make and model of the radios we use within WYP (Kirklees)? Also does anyone know any other good websites to buy new kit from? Cheers
