Does anyone know if we get personal issue radios and if we get leather warrant card holders with crest on it issued in WYP.

after what seems like FOREVER! I have passed my assessment with a overall mark of 70%. just got vetting, medical and fitness hurdles to.. well...hurdle. and hurdle i will have to do! i opened the vetting forms and nearly fainted at the financial part. am not very confident i will pass vetting due to the defaults on my file. but i am back up to date with my payments and am managing my debts. I am going to write a letter explaining the circumstances involved in the defaults and prove I am managing my debts. If they still fail me then ah well I will try again in 6 months. They won't get rid of me that easy! anyway anyone else get the good news!?

Hello all, Received a call this morning I have now cleared both Vetting & Medical and start training in May. The pre-seminar is in April Anybody else get this?

hi guys, am awaiting to hear back about the recent assessment/interview on the 7th may? is anyone else getting palpitations when the postman drops the post through the letter box? wish NPIA would hurry up and mark it already!

With the medical, can't find my forms anywhere...do you have to send something back to the Occupational Health Unit or do you just rock up and crack on? Basically, I don't have the forms with me, is this a issue?

Do WYP provide us with torches if so which type/make ae they any good. If not what type did you get And do you think it worth buyng a torch for like 30 quid.

Hi all, I was reading a thread earlier which stated specials driving for the Police as a normal Regular would get training to do... This might off already been asked but in West Yorkshire is this possible for Special Constables to do Driving? Thanks for help!

So I've just heard back from steve and i have been put on the 16th of July training course as i couldn't make the induction for the May course. Anybody else on this course? Joni

Hi Folks, Just a real quick query, i see the Specials recruitment is on hold for WYP, im a serving special (for 7 years) and will be moving to Huddersfield shortly, thought it might be easier to transfer forces if poss rather than travelling lots to do duties, any idea if WYP are still accepting transfers? Thanks in advance. Steve

Title isn't explaining my situation too well. Basically. I have just been told by another police force, that despite the fact they are not recruiting, due to my qualifications (won't go into these) they would be interested in offering me a position. This would mean moving away from Leeds next summer. However, they said I would need operational experience first and will need to do at least a year's work with WYP. Which I'm happy for obviously can't wait, but it would change life plans around substantially. I start training late this summer (being ambiguous for a reason to protect my identity) what is the realistic time - frame for training and will I be on the streets…

Hi, Thought i would let you know that applications have started being accepted on the WYP website, I have submitted mine just now!! fingers crossed! myky

I just checked the WYP website to see that Specials Applications are closing today (Friday 15th April)! So everyone who has handed there application in, fingers crossed we shall be hearing something shortly and good luck!
