West Yorkshire Police

Hi all, I work for West Yorkshire Police currently as a SC, however I don't get issued with a BB (some SC's do get issued them (of the same rank as me) but i don't) I was just wondering if you can use your own BB and get force email set up on that because i'm only at my station to check emails twice a month or so! If not can you request one? I don't want access to anything more than me email, but i have no idea if you can get this set up on your own BB or whatever. Thanks in advance, Hannah x

Hello all Thanks for taking the time to read this post. I have recently been offered a trainee post with west yorks specials and can't wait. I'm looking forward to getting stuck in and meeting the names I have met on here at our seminar at the start of April. Very simply I am after any sort of Information towards what I may be able to read, study or learn while I wait for my training to begin. I understand that upon training we receive a door stops worth of info and training documents that will of course cover all bases but that date is well over a month away. Has anyone used any other material at all? I hope other new starters find this thread of use also and…

Evening everybody, Would appreciate some info from anybody who has got through the recruitment process and no doubt this will benefit everybody else when they get to the same recruitment stage as me! Got a letter saying I am invited to join West Yorks on 23rd November and I had to return an acceptance form. From what I gather I don't hear anything else from them until a week before when they tell me my posting. Am I right? The next 7 weeks are going to seriously drag... Thanks Chris

Come on, where are the trainees from my session, make yourselves known to the forum!! I've been told I'm in the Wakefield division, has anybody any ideas where I am likely to be stationed, bearing in mind I live close to Xscape? Also, may I take this opportunity to wish all current and potential Officers and their families a very Happy and safe Christmas.

Hi, I was watching one of the Coppers episodes from Season 1, shot on a Saturday night in Wakefield and noticed uniformed persons with 'Marshall' as their identifier on their back. Does anyone know what their role is and what powers they hold? I am curious to know, I have not come across them before and they look like Police officers/PCSOs from afar and not like your typical SIA Door personnel. Hi everyone, I am a long time observer, but as recruitment for specials finally opened on Thursday, and I sent my application in, thought I should let everyone know. But has anyone else applied yet?

When writing quoting someone in my PNB or a statement, what would be the correct spelling of Mosh? I tend towards the traditional herbrew spelling of Moses - Moshe, however I don't think that really catches the correct pronunciation and it's probably another word entirely. Any ideas?

I had a phone number which when substituted with the last 4 digits of an issi, rang that radio. Can anyone pm me it? Also does it work externally or just internal? Thanks

Yesterday a delightful First bus driver informed me I could not travel for free on my warrant card as I'm only a Special Constable and thus a regular member of the public (I wasn't aware that Police Officers *weren't* also members of the public). Rather than enter into a drawn out argument with a bus driver in front of a load of bemused members of the public I decided it would be more dignified to just pay the bus fare. Would anyone else bother complaining to First about that? Or just think "meh..."
