Got a meeting tomorrow at 7pm and don't even know what it's for haha and doesn't seem like anyone else is attending..

I had my uniform fitting last week, it was a very weird feeling seeing myself wearing everything! Only 6 more training days before attestation weekend- really scary! Those who are just starting...when is your first day? It will go sooo quick, it doesn't seem 2 minutes since I started!

I thought I would start a topic for the second intake of 2013. I don't know if anyone on here was at the seminar last night, I found it very enjoyable and informative and its made me want to get cracking with it. That is untill I saw the module one book and realised I haven't very long to take it all in. Only had a quick flick through though last night. Looking forward to getting my teeth into it tonight. Evening all. Those of you waiting to start training in October will be well under way with all stages completed, and some just finishing off. I have today had an email to say I will be assigned to NEL, however my preference is NWL, has anyone else had any information on where they will be going? And those of you with vetting and medicals still to complete have you been told when you will be offered training, as I am keen to do a course that doesn't involve every other weekend if possible as its tricky with work. Before i post, can a mod please message me clarifying what can and can't be posted regarding WYP specials defence tactics weekends? I'm assuming that posts about content need to be careful.

Hi all! I was just wondering if anyone knew if/when they are likely to open up the regulars recruitment internally? Is it likely to be soon or not this year? Has anyone got any ideas on numbers? Cheers guys! x

The document on the forum which details all forces and how they permit their Specials to drive basically states that WYP allow everything except tactical driving. In training recently, I was told by somebody that this was not the case at all. I don't know what to believe now! Are there any Specials who drive within WYP on more than just A - B conditions?

We were told last training weekend (induction) about the free bus travel available to PC's, SC's etc, both on and off duty, and that if we decide to use our warrant card for free travel off duty that the understanding is that we will deal with any problems that arise. Just out of interest, how many already serving officers do use the free travel off duty? I mean, it could be dangerous if anything happened and you ID yourself as an off duty officer with no immediate backup, but surely if something happened and you had paid onto the bus, you would take some sort of action too? Bus travel is a big expense for me, more so come September when I am back at uni and will not …

I've got my assessment on the 12th of August and have been going through the pack and feel fairly confident however, does anyone know of any scenarios online to practice for the 'Proposal Document' part and also where you can find example questions for the 'Situational Judgement Tests'. I know there is an example at the back but was wondering if there are any others online etc?

Hello all, Just a note to wish all those getting attested as a West Yorkshire Police Special Constables this weekend, the very best of luck. I'm David and I'm one of the Section Officers (SO's) at City & Holbeck Divison based in the City at Millgarth. I'll be attending Bishopgarth tomorrow afternoon along with SSO Shaw so that we can introduce ourselves to all those lucky officers who will be joining the team at CA Division. Had my assessment on the 13th May, and just had my medical on the 1st July, still awaiting these results and getting nervous now! Also feel like I'm the only one at this stage at this time!

One for you guys who have done or are in training right now: Any advice on what areas might be worth getting a head start on prior to training? And a good place to get that info from? I have a long wait before training starts and it would be helpful to know what's coming up. I thought they may have given some reading material with the schedule they've sent out, but nothing. One thing I was thinking about is all these acronyms ,abreviations and code names I keep coming across. Thanks for any help.
