Does anybody know what times training is at bishopgarth and huddersfield? am trying to sort childcare out in advance and need to know :*)

hiya there, iv just got my start date for october 12th and cant wait, only thing now is looking to move (i curently live in cleveland) so going to be moving somewere between wakefield and huddersfield, just wundering if anyone else lives down that way and knows any nice friendly areas to live in, must be affordable as itl just be me earning at first untill my partner can find a job there aswell. also does anyone know when you find out which division of west yorkshire you will be in, i believe that the 2 year probation/training is split between your department, university of huddersfield and bishopgarth cheers all

so....... looking like all of this years new starters have started and gone quiet. Amazing how quickly a thread can die. So with that in mind, lets try and re-spark the love for the job we have been waiting years just for a start date for. Has anyone else had their fitness and waiting for a medical? Has anyone else had an email from HR saying its looking like September for the medical? And to the poor saps who applied in September last year (like me) have had their assesment and have been told its going to be january next year at the earliest before their Fitness.... your in my thoughts Hope to hear from people soon

Welcome to the West Yorkshire Police chat thread.

Just curious if anyone has any experience of this. If I pass everything I will be doing my training at Bishopgarth and it is quite a long way from home. It will cost upwards of £10 a day roughly to get to and from training and will involve at least 2 miles of walking and 2 train journeys. While I would be able to make it to training everyday with some difficulty could anyone tell me if they are able to provide residential training? If so would my circumstances allow me to get residential training even if it is at a cost? Thanks!

I hope all the members from AA will join me in wishing both officers a speedy recovery following their incident in Yeadon in the early hours of Saturday Morning. The driver of the police vehicle involved was an officer I had the pleasure of working alongside on several occasions and I would like to wish him a full and speedy recovery. Good luck mate. (Officers details withheld on purpose - I would hope those who work at AA will know who the officer is by now)

My sincere condolences go out to the family, friends and colleagues of the officer shot dead in Bradford today. My thoughts are also with the officer who was injured.
