Hi all. I am currently considering my choices for uni, starting 2012. I am just interested in the recruitment of Specials from the Policing degree. Do WMP still recruit specials from this even though Recruitment is frozen. Also, Has/is anyone currently on this course or graduated? Just wondering what peoples impressions are of this course. Hi all, I've got something on my mind so thought I'd like to ask a question - Although I will be calling Shared Services tomorrow for a definitive answer. I took part in a fitness test and forensic testing earlier today at the L&D centre. I had been anticipating a bleep test and a push/pull test however we were only given the bleep test, no push/pull test which is strange as the email advised that we'd be given a push/pull test. It was only on the way back in the car that I thought, I didn't think to ask about the push/pull test or next stages at the time although I probably should have given that I'd travelled quite a way to attend. Can anyone advise?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-24744649 PCC has announced that he is looking launching a recruitment drive for 250 new officers in 2014/15 and 200 in 2015/16. Plan is to do it through force reserves being spent and small rise in council tax. One off I guess until funding improves. Good on the PPC for trying something like this because the force really is at the 'tipping point' as he calls it. I'm hoping for some really stringent screening of people coming in though. Don't want the spaces wasted with anybody who can't really handle the job!

Hello ladies and gents, Hope you are all acing a lovely weekend, and not working too hard! I am just posting in here for a little bit of advice really, I am currently a serving Special Constable with a well known, non-home office, trackside walking, police force. I have noticed that West Midlands Police are recruiting Special Constables on Monday. I'm contemplating applying but to be honest, I am completely unsure.
