Hi all, I’m just going through recruitment and was just wondering about when they would tell you where you are going to be stationed or at least an idea. It’s just as I may have to relocate and of course the more notice the better.

Hi all, So I applied for specials about a year ago and now have a start date for July (with an induction in june). In the meantime I've passed final interview for regulars. Just have Vetting and medical / fitness to complete. Due to working shifts I have had to use a lot of holiday up for specials (approx 100 hours). At what point should I bail out? Obviously there's still plenty of time for regulars to go wrong, although I can't see why, but you know what it's like. I don't want to annoy them by starting specials then quitting to join regs. Realistically I'll never go on patrol as a special to prevent complaints hindering the regular application. It would be ni…

Good evening, I have my final interview getting closer and closer. I have read loads of books on it and don't find them too useful if I'm honest. I've read lots from forums, some of which is quite old. I'm starting to struggle and I feel very unprepared - partly due to nerves no doubt. I think I have narrowed final interview prep into 3 sections. 1) have an idea how you'd answer typical interview questions such as, why do you want to be a police officer, why have you applied to this force? What are your weaknesses? 2) have a bunch of scenarios in your mind that could be challenging incorrect behaviour, confrontational situations etc 3) lastly, some revision …

I thought I'd start this thread due to the lack of WMP forum activity. I had my final interview two weeks ago and I am currently waiting to hear back. I was told there were a number of intakes from November 2015 all the way though to early 2017 depending on how well candidates performed throughout the recruitment process - higher scorers starting first. Is anyone else in a similar position? It seems to me that they're leaving it very late to inform people of success with a potential November intake considering most employers will require a months notice and candidates will need to find living arrangements pretty soon! Anyone currently training with WMP may be able to s…
