Hi all, I am most of the way though my application to West Mids (fitness tomorrow then final interview), without wishing to sound cocky I was wondering if anyone knew what the placement procedure is after initial training? I will be having to move from rural Wales so was after knowing if you can request a certain area at all as without that I am looking at trying to find a house for me and the partner and labrador in a commutable distance to the whole service area on a budget and her not insignificant demand list with a tiny budget! Hi everyone Just received some news today that WMP are recruiting again this December for internal staff only. Will any internals on here by applying? I feel its about time WMP recruited internally just like BTP and GMP do. I take it a lot of the PCSOs will be applying, well that's dependant on whether or not they have lost faith in the force! cheers!

Hi there, Many apologies if I'm in the wrong section but after a ton of reading and talking to people - I've decided that I'd like to try and become a SC. The trouble is that West Mid isn't recruiting specials at the moment and there aren't any future dates planned to reopen applications. Does it happen alongside regular PC recruitment? In which case, would it take a few years for opportunities to open up? Or is it usually once a year or something? Do I just have to keep checking? Thanks!

Hi all, I recently attended an assessment centre for the regulars with my local force. Having been informed that I had passed it I then contacted them as they hadn't given me a % figure. They told me today i got 68% overall, I cannot find this on the paperwork anywhere though, I see the breakdown scores. The pass mark for my force is 60% and I'm a little worried that this score won't be enough as there is only 200ish jobs available and there has been 3 been or is due to be three groups of assessment centres which makes over 500 people taking the assessment. Im unsure what is classed as a good score and the likelihood that I will get that final interview. Anybody with …

Are there many people going through the application process following the recent recruitment activity in the West Midlands?

Hi, I'm trying to put a plan in place within my LPU to assist with different duties. For those who are currently serving within WMP could you please give me an idea of what you are expected to do and the type of shifts you perform on your respective LPU's please. Ideally things like; Do you work single crewed? Do you work with regs all the time or are you partnered with other SC's? Do you work response, nhood, CAPT etc? What type of jobs do you attend? Are you able to obtain a vehicle with ease or is it a case of luck? Do you perform event support? Football, Pride, EDL etc? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi guys I have just gone through the regular recruitment process with West Midlands. I passed all the stages leading up to the force interview. That included a 74% mark at the SEARCH assessment day. I passed all the elements at the assessment centre with a 100% score in both oral and written communication and 76% in working with others. I just found out today that I failed the force interview. This is after a paper sift, a telephone interview, the assessment centre, a medical and fitness tests were all passed! I'm completely gutted! I have worked so hard to get to this stage and to be honest I thought the force interview was my strongest stage! Does anyone know if …
