Well folks, Ive decided that this will be my final year in the SC, come summer I will be hanging my helmet up for the last time. Ive had a good 10 years but the way things are changing I'm finding its not for me anymore, far to full-on for me. I joined to assist the full time officers but these days its more of a full time officers job. I'll let admin know on here when I leave so the profile details can be changed.

Hey guys! I wrote a post quite a while back about being on the waiting list for the SYP PCSO's Unfortunately, after ringing up HR they told me that the successful applicants who are on the list such as myself would likely not progress any further due to funding issues !!! I was also told that come may, i would be taken off the list and would have to apply all over again :'( !!! The HR member said there was a chance SYP police would get funding before then and i would be placed on a course, but not to set my hopes on this as it is very unlikely. As you can imagine i am extremely disappointed. On the SYP website, on the PSCO recruitment section it says this - "South…

Hi All, I thought I would create this thread for all new recruits starting with SYP this year. My aim is to arrange meet ups with each other, in order to help each other out and get to know each other a bit more. No doubt I will meet most of you when I start in Aug / Oct, however I'm sure there are other recruits who will have started before and after myself. Hope to meet with you all soon! Tom

Just having a break at the office looking through some of the older posts, it seems that people will post less and less on this part of the forum after they become atested, is this because the move on into the duty room or just fade away, leave the service, or do not complete the training or other :new_shades: questions on a post card folks :new_eyebrow:

Hi all I was at the assessment centre on the 3rd of this month and fingers crossed I hope I pass everything. If so, does anyone know how long the vetting period is and do they send something for you to fill in before they begin the process? Such as additional information and things? Any advice much appreciated!
