It seems like an age since I attended the Specials Presentation but I've succeeded in my application and now have a start date for the next chapter and joining the March intake Has anyone else got the same good news?

Hello! I've just been informed that I passed the paper sift for South Yorks and am wondering if anyone else who is new on here will be attending the assessment day on March 3rd. I'm having to miss the jan 28th one due to being required for TA duty. So, if you're going to the March one, id love to know - don't be shy Leo

Hi all, I've got my pre induction evening coming up on Wednesday, and I was just wondering as to what to wear to this? It doesn't state a dress code in the letter, but I didn't want to turn up in jeans and a t-shirt for example, if the majority of people went down the smart route. Also, it mentions that on your first day you should attend in civilian clothing. Again, any strict requirements with regards to dress? Thanks, Dan

Hi There All, I got a phone call the other day inviting me to an assessment centre on Jan 28'th 2012. Anyone got any useful info about what to swot up on and also, how long after the assessment centre we will find out if we have made it through to the next stage? Got a call while at work today from HR asking my shoe size so they could order my boots. Does anyone have any info on these boots, what are they like etc, and will they be any good or shall I make room for them on a dusty shelf? Or, do most buy their own? hello everyone i did assesment 23rd july at manvers ..anyone got their results yet ?

Hey all, I will be moving house in January and will be on the border of both South and West Yorkshire and so I need to decide whether to apply to either WY or SY. Could any SY Police Reg/Specials tell me what roles Specials are given in SY? Are they treated the same as Regs? Do you enjoy working as a Special? And anything else you feel is relevant.
