Hi all, Have been quietly surfing these forums for the last couple of months. Just wanted to say that I have found everything really helpful and it ensured I was fully prepared for my interview. Today I received my letter to confirm I passed the assessment centre ! Can't believe it, was literally jumping around haha! Very chuffed and the feedback they send is also really helpful. Thought it was about time I said hello to everyone - although this board for SYP is quite quiet ! Next parts are the medical questionnaire (no fitness test?), and vetting, then a drugs test...which isn't until February ! Quite shocked at how long that will take but presume this is so they will…

Topic. I just need to know in case I get that far, because I'd prefer to go to Ecclesfield than DV, as I know how to get to Ecclesfield (number 88 Bus from opposite Castle Markets) but I have no idea how to get to DV!

iv passed the first stage of the application. next stage in march,fingers crossed .

Passed my assessment on 31st July at Snig Hill, passed my interview at Doncaster District HQ on Friday 10th September. I recieved a phone call yesterday from recruitment asking me to go for the substance misuse test this coming Saturday (18th September)! I have a few questions....... 1) how long does it usually take from this test to actually starting training? 2) my dad was arrested during the miner's strike in 1984 for striking a policeman (though he was later acquitted), will this affect me? 3) anyone else on here from SY at the same stage as me? Any help would be appreciated. Liam

Hi everyone I'm starting training on the 28th but I live in Sheffield (Broomhill) and can't think of any affordable ways to get to the training centre in Rotheram, if anyone else starting training could give me a lift or knows any ways for me to get there it would be very appreciated. Thanks John.

Well what does everyone think to yesterday's decisions? I passed my assessment centre for the regulars and have also passed to become a call handler and have no idea when I will be starting either! Annoying and frustrating.

Topic. I asked 118118 last week, and they just gave me the general 202020 SYP number for Sheffield (numpties! ) I need to ring up and see how my application's going, I applied (third time, don't start) 3 weeks ago.

Hi I've just passed the assessment centre for the new comms operator roles, and (subject to references and medical, or course), will be starting my training course in November this year Anyone else out there going to be on the course? Jo

Hi guys Cant seem to find anything anywhere on new recruits for SYP. I went to the presentation in Jan to get an APP, sent in Feb and passed CBQ by April. I was then sent a letter stating that i may have got a place on the assessment centre in June but they would let me know nearer the time. I cannot wait i just really hope i get a place in June. Is anyone else awaiting a response for the AC? Dom
