    Phone Insurance

Hi All, Just wondering who has phone insurance and if anyone can recommend any providers? Currently I'm paying £15 p/m on an iPhone 6 with £60 excess for a claim. The good thing about my current provider is that if I make a claim I will be given a replacement on the next working day. However I still believe it's quite expensive for phone insurance.
  2. Hi guys, Often, when having stopped people or whatever in the process of investigating an offence, they will get their phone's out and call somebody for seemingly innocent reasons, or their phone will ring and they will go to answer it. I have always been told to get them to put the phone away in case they are signalling their mates to come round to where they are, or if they are colluding with somebody in order to disrupt our investigation of an offence. However, this got me thinking. So far, everybody i have told to put their phone away has apologised and put it away immediately. But lets say they refuse, what legal backing do I have to actually make them put the phone away, or for instance, take the phone off them temporarily? I can understand if I have somebody detained for a search, then I believe I may have some legal backing there to order them off the phone, or take it off them. But for instance the other day, we have a group of males stopped in a pub garden while we tried to ascertain whether they'd been involved in an offence. One of them was being rung incessantly by his girlfriend, to whom he eventually picked up and my colleague stated "Put it away mate, not while you're the subject of an investigation". Lets say he refused, is it an empty situation in that I have to just let him carry on? Or is there something we can do to enforce our request?

    Does anyone work for EE?

Hiya guys, Got a bit of a complex question and with the EE website and contact being quite tricky, I was wondering if anyone here works for EE that I could PM? Thankyou
  4. The other evening while driving home, i spotted this girl in her car texting away, looking down at her phone. We were both in traffic and we're rolling along at below 10mph. The line of traffic occasionally comes to a total halt. Now in the actual real life situation, we got to the junction where the traffic cleared, she put her phone down, and off we both went on our merry ways separately. However, it got me thinking. Say I'm off duty, and have spotted her texting. She's all stop start, and then she goes into the back of the car in front. What would you do? Would you pass on by thinking, serves her right, or would you pull over and explain you saw her texting and who you were etc?

Occasionally, they are caught dancing on the street and sometimes they troll members of the public on social media. Police in the New South Wales country town of Albury had a laugh on April 12 when an iPhone was handed in at the local station, after its owner lost it on a night out. An officer taught the phone's owner, Bella Crooke, a lesson in phone security by posting a selfie of himself on her Facebook with the advice: "You should probably put a password on your phone. When you are ready to pick it up it will be at Albury police station." Image: Facebook / Bella Crooke The authorities followed up with a couple of puns for good measure. "If your worried about the battery going flat, don't. By the time you pick it up it will be fully 'charged'," they wrote. "It is a great 'cell' phone." They included a photo of the phone locked up in a cell. Image: Facebook / Bella Crooke To top off their Sunday morning fun, the offices also sent out texts to her friends, hinting at the whereabouts of her missing phone. Image: Facebook / Bella Crooke Crooke, whose surname is perfect for for this situation, had been at a dress-up party the night before and left her phone behind, according to the Daily Mail. A security guard had handed it into the police station, but Crooke hadn't been able to get there until 1 p.m. "The phone is still here. Ready to be released early for good behaviour. Just waiting on Bella to post bail," a follow-up message read. When Crooke arrived she had no idea about the social media interactions that had been taking place. Albury Police Inspector Anthony Moodie told the Border Mail it is fine to access a phone to track down an owner. "It doesn’t surprise me the creative ways they come up with in getting property back to the owners,” he said. "Phone users should use the locking mechanisms on their phone so if someone should get a hold of it, they can’t gain access to their private lives." http://mashable.com/2015/04/16/police-selfies-lost-phone/?utm_cid=mash-com-fb-main-link
