With the recent attack on Charles & Camilla's limousine by "protestors," it might be worth a look at another infamous breech of security, this time at Buckingham Palace by Michael Fagan. Early on Friday morning, July 9, 1982, the Queen awoke to find a strange man sitting at the end of her bed. The man, dressed in jeans and a dirty T-shirt, was cradling a broken ashtray and dripping blood onto the royal linens from a lacerated hand. The Queen kept calm and picked up the phone from her bedside table. She asked the operator at the palace switchboard to summon the police. Though the operator did pass the message to the police, the police didn't even respond. Newspap…

I feel like a right idiot but I'm just wondering if anyone else has any stories like this... I was out on duty on Sunday night, slipped on some sheet Ice and... I've broke my leg! My lower Fibula has broke and i'm in a cast up to my knee. I can't believe it! I only had my attestation ceremony in Septemer and I've been doing absolutely loads of hours! Absolutely loving working as a SC...and now i'm going to be out of action until mid-January when my cast is removed. Anyone else had any injuries on duty? Regards The 'broken-legged Special' - Aka David

Check this video out, I'm sure a few of you have probably seen this already. It seems that even the 'Love Police' fans are against these antics. Was the officer patronising or right on this one, interested to see your views.

Hi guys, First time post here, and I'm really stressing about a DVLA issue. I recently rode my motorbike (owned 3 years) from Ireland, I went to the DVLA to tax/register the bike, and they say it is stolen unrecovered. Are they going to take my bike when I make my next visit to the DVLA? The bike was (I guess) stolen from England 12 years ago, and bought from a main dealer in Dublin by a family member, he rode it for years and then sold it to me, and I rode it for years. I can't belive I'm going to lose my bike, which is worth about 1500 pounds, I have no other transport. What are my options? (if any) Any help really really really appreciated Highland

Just watched an episode of "Brit Cops, Law and Disorder" It showed two special constables crewing a marked Mondeo blue lighting it to a fight in the streets, and dealing with the disorder and drunks when they arrived. I presume this wasnt just for the TV, and in London City some speacials can respond to priority calls? I also noted the epaulettes, one had what looked like a cap badge style crest, the other had a gold wreath type of crest, and also had braid on his cap. Presumably he was a senior though the reporter referred to them both as special constables. Good to see Specials being shown working on Tv though, normally I never see them except for the occaisional …

We were recommended 'The Beat Officer's Companion' during training. I already have a copy but it's the 2005 version. Is this one still relevant or should I buy myself the most recent edition?

The other day I saw Surrey PCSO's that are attatched to the RPU. This is something that I have never seen or even heard of before! They even have white flat caps! I am just wondering what their actual role is with the RPU.
