What's the most dangerous situation you've ever been in when you've had to press the button or call up for assistance? How long did it take for the troops to arrive?

Hi everyone, I was watching a program earlier tonight and i noticed ''Market Police'' were on it, does anyone know anything about them? - i.e. what ''force'' they are under, what their duties are, how many of them are about? - and are they actual police officers and do they have ''police kit'' i.e. baton, spray, airwave? Just found out that the interview i thought i had failed, i actually passed and have my Day 2 on the 18th February! cannot describe how happy i am right now!

Can one go on a driver improvement scheme without committing a driving offence?

I have recently come out of hospital and am recouperating well - but I'm worried that I will put on a little weight cuz I'm nowhere near as active as I usually am. I'm due for my PIRT the day I return to work after my recovery period. Is weight a real issue for people applying to the specials? Will they have rigid ideas around weight? Thanks for any advice. A question I'm often asked by MOP's is "Will this go on my criminal record?". I've been asked it after issuing FPNs, cannabis warnings, when completing negative stop and search forms, for the VDRS, and even when taking witness statements. Now that many jobs involve a CRB check it's only natural that people are concerned as to what happens to their information, and whilst in many cases the answer "No, you won't get a criminal record" is clearly going to be correct, I don't really know what "a criminal record" specifically entails, or what what information would or wouldn't be recorded on one. Lying to the police if you've been pulled over or questioned for whatever reason won't get you very far.. but what about telling the truth? Let's say I was pulled over on the motorway for doing 85mph and the officer asks if I knew what speed I was going. Would it be better for me to be completely honest and say "yes, I was doing 85 and I knew I was breaking the law. I hit my brakes as soon as I saw your car behind to try and not get caught" or would it be better to act dumb and say "no I don't know what speed I was going but I'm sure you're going to tell me"? Would being completely honest make the situation worse somehow?

I am currently waiting for my Medical date. As things are moving and I am getting closer and closer to a possible start date I have started thinking. I think there has been topics about this before but hey hear goes. How are specials really treated by Regulars? I know the Police as whole would like to think its "All for one and one for all" but is it? Do Regulars look down on specials and using a tittle from a Newspaper recently class us as "Hobby bobby's" or as my name sake a "Wannabe". Is it an us and them situation? This question isn't as silly as it sounds if you thinnk about it. Imagine there was a button you could press that would end all crime and criminal activety forever... would you press it? Obviously the police would be disbanded and it would mean no more excitement or fun for you and you'd have to go and work in a 'normal' job, but no one anywhere would ever be a victim ever again. Myself I don't think I would do it. Not only because I enjoy it but crime is a big part of what makes humans human in some way.. Or am I just a big selfish meanie?

Just out of interest what are you thoughts on the up coming referendum and the call for Wales to have new law making power. Personally I don’t think we should, the system works as it is and allows us to work well with England/English forces. Would these new powers mean that police officers powers between England and Wales would be the same as Scotland and England? Just a general what are your thoughts kind of topic

Hullo! Im out to judge what you all believe the word race to mean, both serving cops and civilians alike. The issue of race and diversity is clearly a rather important one within the world of law enforcement. The thing is we have it all wrong! If I were to tell you that it is completely impossible to discriminate on the issue of race, what would your answers be?
