Just had a phonecall this morning from the OCU about a concern over my weight as my BMI is 33 and "too high" so I am on hold till i drop it to atleast 30. Not happy at all and was a downer to my day. Im not even fat, Im 6ft and 108kgs. Admittedly I do have a few extra pounds around my waist but im in pretty good shape with quite alot of muscle that I often get comments about my size...( the most popular one being something along the lines of a lavetory made of a brick material ). I think BMI is the most outdated and unaccurate of measuring someones weight "risk" as you can be well built and have the same BMI as an fat person. But not letting this knock my confidence…

Hello all, I must be honest, I am a special and I hated the Custodian helmet. But looking at this link time and time again, you will realise the historic / ceremonial importance of it. Hi everyone, I am considering studying Law at university, I'm about to submit my application on Monday but I just want to make sure it is something I definitely want to do, as I don't want to get into a silly amount of debt over if it is not going to assist my career. (I've already deferred a university course once before, because I haven't been able to make my mind up) I do have a genuine interest in the subject; I'm not just looking at doing it for the sake of getting a qualification so to speak. Hey all, After watching Silent Witness last night I was intrigued by the whole business of diplomatic immunity. I was wondering how far does it go? Would they be let off for shoplifting? How about murder? And what do you all think on this issue? To what extent should it go? Should they have it at all? Interested to hear your thoughts on this, Phil

Ive wondered this for a while. After seeing it on Silent Witness, if something happened in say the US embassy in London, would the police have powers to go in to the building and resolve it. Say... a murder or just an assault or would it be down to the americans to fix it for them selves. Also, are embassies classed as foreign soil or just foreign buildings on grounds of the country of where ever they are. Andy

A SUFFOLK Constabulary officer has launched a campaign encouraging police officers to lobby their local MPs about potential changes to police officer pensions. Sgt Nigel Tompsett, of the Lowestoft safer neighbourhood team, is trying to persuade his own MP that police officers should be exempt from any possible increase in pension contributions. In Lord Hutton's executive summary of his interim report into public sector pensions in October last year, he suggested that 'the most effective way to make short-term savings is to increase member contributions and there is also a clear rationale for doing so'. Hi Guys, Firstly sorry if this has been covered before i know you hate have to repeat your self again ,, and again .. and again .. ..... but i did search for this and could not find it! I was just wondering how often you lot (specials) have had to go to court to be a witness. I know obviously this would change a lot dependant on the situations you have got in to but just a general idea would help. Well me and a colleague are having a small debate at the moment about the proper way to sign on for duty VIA our radios . Is there a force specific or is it a national thing ? . Also is it different for Asb and going out with imu ? . Any information or guide would be appreciated . Cheers
