I was on duty last night and asked by at least several people for a picture with them, I declined them as they were very drunk, but what do/should you do in this situation.

Hi everyone. My first post. I thought about becoming a special 25 years ago, but when I mentioned this to two of my friends who were serving Met PCs the response was very negative. Comments like Oh you dont want to do that we think they are a waste of time, so the result was I did not join. Well skip forward to last year and the advertising campaign on Capital radio got my interest going again. Well what a difference in attitude, now when asking around serving PCs they all said yes go for it, we really appreciate specials. So guess what, I applied and all the tests and medical later I have been accepted and at the grand old age of 54 I start training with the Kent Special…

This is just a general question, I haven't received this information yet as going through Medical/Vetting Thanks

Okay so I am not a serving officer as yet, however at school (i will not disclose which school) I do a lot of volunteer work to do with assisting janitors, stage audio visual, stage lighting etc. now I have had problems with countless "muppets" in other years who think it is amusing to try and stop us. The head teacher has spoken to them constantly however, its gone too far and 2 weeks ago myself and another pupil, who was also in the event team had to throw another pupil out with his hands behind his back in a standard restraining position. However today, for the second time people have attempted to spit at me, and the behind the back is becoming more difficult. Would an…

I was once told that Police treat young drivers with less respect compared to old or mature drivers. This was a conversation which I had when I was stopped for having a light out on my car, was given a piece of paper that needed stamping by a garage once job complete and to present this to the police station. I was once in my dads car when he was stopped for the same thing, the police officer just told him to get it sorted and that was that. I Don't believe that Police treat younger drivers with less respect, they just treat them differently in a way that educates them?? I was 17 at the time and was in an area where police regularly patrol for antisocial drivers, I …

Hi all, I have seen people talking about the CS spray on certain topics and just wondered how effective it actually is (never seen it directly been used) I have experienced the effects as a by-passer on a night out when it was sprayed outside a pub, but it was only mild and like a bad case of hay fever. But say it was sprayed directly in my face, would it instantly disable me? i.e I was on duty, some bloke the size of a small tank is charging at me with the intention of hitting me, I spray him and back off, would that be sufficient to prevent him from successfully attacking me? (Slight exaggeration with the size of the person, but oh well) Thanks for any replies …

Hi - I did a search for this so aplogies if it's been asked before and my search didn't pick it up. I'm an SC in Cumbria Constabulary and have my sister and brother in law in the Met's (regulars). I've spent a shift with them (as civilian) before I decided to be an SC. Where do I stand as an SC in Cumbria if I wanted to go out with them again - would I be able to wear my uniform or even theirs?

Hi all, not sure if theres another posting about getting "sworn in" aka attestation. But was wondering what actually happens on the day of your attestation? Each force is probably the same but if there is any difference in forces then im interested in hearing from BTP officers. Basically just curious about what is ahead.Thats all. Thanks
