Do any of you take martial arts classes in your free time, or have trained with them in the past ? Krav Maga seems to be taking off big time in London and its purely self defence training. Very useful, classes are usually about disarming attackers and getting out of nasty situations. Have any of you taken on a martial arts, and if so, has it helped you at all ?

Hi, i know a person who is using his warrant card as a form of free travel... and hasn't been to service for over 2 years and he was recruited as a specials. As a former specials constable i feel this is disgusting and unfair on others who try hard to get into the police force and improve their community. what will be the best course of action for me to do? The reason being he has not been to service is the individual didn't receive the "vest" for over 2 years nw!

HI. I'm fully aware of the legal disclaimer. I was just wondering, after all the research I did today, I am unable to find where cycling on a motorway is prohibited or otherwise illegal . I read this today on the BBC news website article: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-26346089 and I thought to myself "idiot cyclist" But then I questioned myself and looked at the road traffic act at www.legislation.gov.uk However I still can't find where the act/law says you can't cycle on a UK motorway. I would appreciate If you guys/girls that deal with this could enlighten me. Thank you. Edit spelling at 01:18 on 26/2/14

As per the norm I've searched and not found a thread discussing this I'm just wondering what people opinions are on the idea of forming a National 3rd force, paramilitary & between the HO Police and the Armed Forces.

ANYONE A REGULAR THAT CAN PM ME IN BEDS POLICE, POTENTIAL TRANSFEREE HERE!!!
-
I'm happy in the force I am in; however you never know what the future holds. So my question is this, have you transferred forces as a regular and then regretted it and how did you resolve this or did you? Also why did you originally choose to transfer?

Just wondering what your thoughts are on section 5 public order now that it has been changed, so now that the word "abusive" is not longer in the meaning.

Hey, I'm interested to the reasons why people decided to become a Special, did you like the idea of helping people or did you want to make a difference in your community?

Hi all! Just wanted to see what the night time economy was like in different areas? Is it hard to police for yourselves and when you do it are you paired up with specials or are you paired up with regulars and go out and patrol the mean streets at night?

So we were debating tonight about laws North and South of the border. So I thought I'd start a thread on what English laws you would like to see in Scotland, and what Scottish laws you would like in England. It would be nice to hear from people that have experienced both legal systems! Please don't let it descend into a country bashing thread. It's just cherry picking the best of both worlds. So to start it off, I'd quite like the following in Scotland - it can be an arduous process getting a warrant after an arrest: Section 18 of PACE

Fellow officers - I'm doing a little survey. Can you please answer me a question. When was the last time you responded on an immediate, got on scene in time and arrested a suspect for a decent job ? Thanks MM

Has crime really gone down? Are the streets safer? Are people in denial about this? I chuckled to myself a few weeks ago (although it wasn't a laughing matter) when reading an article where a senior MET Officer was patting himself on the back when he was commenting on how the murder rate within London had gone down dramatically and how this compared favourably to other major, international cities. "London has never been safer", he proudly asserted, leading to me inadvertently spitting a mouthful of coffee all over my iPad in bewilderment. What that shows, in my mind, is that if I was going to get shot, stabbed or beaten then I have probably the best chance of survival i…
