I know I may be missing something obvious but as a general rule what is your necessity to arrest for simple possession of drugs if you are satisfied that's all they have? Likewise a shoplifter if you believe you have recovered all the stolen property on stopping them?

Hello all, With regards to carrying a knife in a public place, would it be a reasonable excuse for a delivery driver to carry a knife over 3 inches in the course of their job? i.e for opening boxes from their van? Any advise would be appreciated Thanks

Just wanted to discuss if this scenario would be a 9.1a or 9.1b offence as I've heard differing opinions. A woman is in a fast food restaurant and orders a meal. I take the law very seriously and have never had so much as a caution and would like to keep it that way. Hi, I was just wondering, would it be legal to use blue lights and sirens on a security vehicle that never leaves private property? I understand you can use section 17 to enter a premises to arrest someone for an indictable offence, but does this include either way offences? for example a police officer is in pursuit of a shoplifter, the shoplifter lives across the road and runs in to his house. Can the police officer enter to make the arrest?

Hey guys, For at least the last 4 nights, a car alarm has been going off outside my house at the times of 2300, and as late as 0200. Can I ask....when would an investigating policeman use a Witness Information Booklet before interviewing the victim under caution? It's an actual case: the first victim interview was to complete the booklet. Two weeks later a statement was taken. Is this normal?
