Driving around today and drove past some bikers. The lead biker, though by no means the only biker in the group had a rather small VRN plate, which had some very small scale text on. All things been equal however, the plate was clean and undamaged and seemed securely attached. Would a in the know Bod please fill me in with the relevent requirements of this and just for laughs, why not comment on if we think it is right if the plate is only readable when up close..due to its size. My mind had something along the lines of if sold/made in this condition, such as in a 'classic' state, that it might be exempt. J

Seen a street 'pea and shell game' take place the other day while out and about... A regular task at football matches is to ensure that fans get on the coach after a match as quickly as possible without incident. However bearing in mind that: - they are in a public place - they have not been required to disperse under s27 - no other orders are in place - their coach is legally parked - no offences are being comitted is it legal to insist they get on their coach and even use hands on to guide them to it (or even shove them on it) I ask because this is commonly done, but I struggle to see what grounds there are to legitimately do anything other than ask them to leave. This is the situation. A man comes in to deposit funds to his account. He has £1710 to deposit in denominations of 85 x £20 notes and a £10 note. When the cashier counte it he counts 3 piles of £500 in twenties. But wen re counting mistakingly couts the piles as £1000 each. The customer notices that he has miscounted but takes the deposit of £3210 to his account and double times it out the door. Is the customer guilty of anything? I live on a fairly busy road that is next to the divisional HQ for Lancashire Police, and also very close to a couple of ambulance stations. Often when I see ambulances with their sirens + lights on trying to get somewhere, I see cars following the ambulance, overtaking those that have pulled over or sometimes just slowed down. Is this legal? I'm guessing that on a technicality it isn't, because the cars have pulled over or reduced speed, but surely it 'should' be illegal? Am I better just accepting it as another example of bad and inconsiderate driving? Funny how they don't do it with any of the police vehicles. hello people im not sure how to create a thread so im just going to use this one.. about 2 month ago i was cautioned by the police for assault (ino stupid) and am now worried that it might affect my career choice as im studying engineering and wanting to become a secondary school teacher in engineering, when i was cautioned i signed some forms and have read up about cautions and ive herd many different stories things like if you signed documents you will have it for life and cant teach and others say it last 3 years so can anyone tell me that in 5 years time when i apply for a crb check and go into teaching will it affect me ? cheers thanks

For all those who have been saying that keeping innocent peoples data on the DNA database have nothing to worry about should really read this article in which the Govt have now agreed to release the database to other EU countries - which, by the way, is the largest database in the world according to this report. What is really concerning is that not only do we have a really poor and IMO unfair extradition arrangement with the USA but it now appears that UK residents will now be able to be extradited on a body of evidence which is poorer than our own.
