Hi everybody, what would you do in this situation..., Your on patrol with one other colleague, your going by a local shop and notice between 10-15 youths standing around the side of the shop, now it is clear to you and your colleague that a few are already drunk and may still have drink on them. In this area there is common problems with youths acting in a anti-social manner and gang violence is bad at times as well, youths have also been found carrying knives in the past. The shop they are standing at is were previously they used to 'team up' before fighting with rival gangs, so there is a good chance that things will get hostile. What would you do? Thanks

Interested on peoples thoughts on this one... Busy saturday night in the centre of town. You're on foot patrol at around midnight and a guy comes up to you saying he has been assaulted, then proceeds to point out two young men a few hundred yards up the street. He has had a few drinks but is not silly drunk. No obviously apparent or serious injuries. Would you do more or less than this... Take his name and details, give him your collar number and tell him to report it in the morning. Then approach the two men he pointed out, give them an attitude test and if they pass do no more than take their names and details. Assume normal radio checks and none show a record. If he…

Ok heres an entirely hypothetical scenario for you! You used to work for a guy who you knew was dodgey, into a bit of Class A (Cocaine)... Always people coming and going from the premisis who you know to dabble in some Class A also... So now your a special in the area with this intelligence... would you? A) Stop & Search the guy when you saw him out and about late at night. RGB that he may be in the possession of Class A B) Feed this info into the system and await an outcome C) Ignore it unless something blatantly obvious goes on in front of you D) Something else... please state.

I heard a story today and wondered about any possible offences. Essentially the story was man leave a job for another but before leaving the building he defecates in a box and leaves it behind his ex-bosses chair. The only offence I thought would be good old Distress in S5.

Hey, i'm new to this forum so please be easy on me! I'm making up a scenario just to see what different reactions there would be. Here it goes: I'm sitting in a bar/restaurant with a friend, eating my food. There is a male that seems to be a little drunk and aggitated sitting a couple of tables away by himself eating his food. I overhear a member of staff saying that the male has been aggressive towards the member of staff when ordering a beer. Without any warning, the male launches all his food and his plate in the direction of another table where 2 students are sitting, the plate shatteres into peices and theres food everywhere. As a female member of staff walks ove…

Ok so last night was on bus in Fulham, and this OAP who was drunk football fan who had just seen his team lose was on the bus, he started talking a bit all calm and nice then turned a bit angry towards my mate threatening him etc. "I like you and you and you, but you I hate you" (removed swearing). All of this was for no reason. Now I heard somewhere that BTP deal with Drunk n Disorderly on public transport either by arrest or PND. But as it was getting more verbal in a public place, so adivsed him to calm down and stop swearing, to which he continued. I then told him if he didnt calm down he would be arrested for Section 5 Public Order, as was causing alarm, harassment a…

I have just heard from my friends today about an incident that they witnessed whilst out shopping. Whilst they were in the shop a male walked in picked up some trainers and then walked out closely followed by staff and shopping centre security. Four of the members of staff manage to get the man to the ground, but whilst on the ground he pulled a knife from his pocket, the staff members let the man go and there was a brief stand of between both parties. The male then got on a bike a left. I was just wondering what people would have done in the situation. I myself may have been tempted to assist the staff members whilst they had him on the floor, bearing in mind I would h…

what are you meant to do, if you'r off-duty, or still in training and you come across an individual who's made it pretty obvious they've skipped bail and is wanted in his area by the police because of this? Am I meant to inform the police? Turn a blind eye, as he was in the pub socialising? I'm soo confused on what would be the best approach would be, without potenially putting my own safety at risk.

Before we start, i'd just like to say this is a real scenario outside my house last week... We have a 15m drive from our front garden which ends on an approximately 3m wide pavement with a lowered kerb opposite our drive which goes onto a busy B road. I came home from a long shift last week and experienced a rare occasion that an unknown car had parked with wheels 1/2 & 1/2 road/pavement - but across the front of our driveway. Being a pet hate of mine :D , i parked the car accross the road, went into the house and sat in the window waiting for the owner to return. She returned and although apologetic, she did get my constructive words "i'd appreciate it if you'd par…

Hey just something i was thinking about on my last shift, as a newly appointed SC, if i wanted to stop and account/search someone and they ran away am i able to run after them in order to carry out an account or search? Or would that only be relevant for arrest? (Is it true that it is lawful to run from the police?). An example might be, at 02:00 i have recived reliable information that a house nearby has been burgled and jewllery has been taken by a man vaugely fitting the description in front of me (information is 6ft dark clothes), i approch him to stop and account then maybe stop and search him if i have the grounds after speaking to him. However he sees me approachi…

Hello I am really looking for some advice and thoughts. Within my university course there are arround 10 the younger people aged 18 - 21. There however is a 50 year old on the course who deems it socially acceptable to constantly use offensive and sickening sexual jokes and comments towards other female members of the group, also trying to arrange to visit there homes to see there children and meet with other female students of the age of his daughter. As all of the students know I am a traning to be a special constable 7 of the girls has told me they feel freaked out and scared to be on there own with this person. Because of the sexual jokes that he mainly passes tow…

This scenario happened today and I am just wondering what you would do about it. Today me and a friend had drove into a residential car park, just before we parked up there was a car in-front who had also parked up. The car in-front was occupied by the driver himself who was a young male, about 2 minuets later we saw another male walk up to the car. After getting he exchange money over for an item that is suspected to be some form of illegal substance, as an off duty Special Constable, what you do? Personally I would take the vehicle details and report the suspicious activities but I am interested to know what you guys would do.
