Met Police corruption: Officers allowed to resign More than 130 Metropolitan Police (Met) officers were allowed to resign rather than facing misconducts panels over the last year, figures have shown. Another 43 were sacked over the same period, the Press Association found. A Police Officer went to his parents' house yesterday and found them both murdered. The investigation is not ruling out that it might be linked to the officer's work. If that turns out to be true, the 'the Policeman's lot' has just entered a whole new era. STORY HERE

A man has been ordered to pay a fine of almost £2000 after he admitted laying metal tacks outside three Kent police stations, puncturing the tyres of numerous police cars. 59-year-old Kevin Bance of Brookfield, Kemsing, Sevenoaks, narrowly escaped a jail sentence on Monday 9 January after appearing at Maidstone Crown court and pleading guilty to three counts of causing danger to a road user and a further count of harassment. He was instead handed a hefty fine as punishment. http://www.kent.police.uk/news/latest_news/120111_damage_police.html After the first 38 vehicles got flat tyres, would the driver of the 39th vehicle just think, hold on, something is up here? …

Victims of horrific crimes are being told it is wrong for them to comment in their impact statements on whether their attacker should be let out of jail. Every year tens of thousands of murderers, rapists and other violent and sexual offenders come before the Parole Board to be considered for release from prison.
