There's no denying he likes his women, but romping with five (one of whom is known to have been in police premises), and potentially letting them off offences (as happened here) in the expectation of carnal relations is simply unacceptable. But doing it in the boiler-room reeks of desperation... perhaps it was dark in there and he didn't want to see her face This bit makes me laugh; "Although the investigation has taken some time to conclude I have had my faith in the police restored by the Police Professional Standards Branch, who have been a tremendous support to myself and the witnesses. I can now move on with my life." If I was her I wouldn't dream of complaining…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-16629055 The Metropolitan Police has won its appeal against a High Court ruling over "kettling" tactics used during the G20 demonstrations in April 2009. The High Court ruling had been won by Hannah McClure, a student, and Josh Moos, a campaigner for Plane Stupid. They challenged the legality of restraint methods used against them when they were contained by officers at a Camp for Climate Action. Officers contained the protesters in Bishopsgate on 1 April 2009. --- Breaking news so not much detail.

Police chief to step down Thursday, January 19, 2012 Chief Reporter Devon and Cornwall Police face more than year without a permanent chief constable – at a crucial time of multi-million budget cuts – after current incumbent Stephen Otter announced he was leaving. The Home Office has banned police authorities from appointing chief constables with elections for the new police and crime commissioners, who will replace them, due in November. With the recruitment process likely to take around three months, plus any notice period the successful candidate has to work, a new chief constable is unlikely to be in post before February next year. It is a vital 12 mo…

A nuisance mother and son who pestered emergency services with 820 calls in just three years have been evicted from their home after making their neighbours' lives a misery. Tina Lean, 43, and Jamie Power, 20, pestered police, fire and ambulance services with their time-wasting calls. Officers say the pair have called 999 an astonishing 820 times since 2008 - that's at least five times a week - becoming a drain on public resources. Police admitted they were obliged to follow up the calls in case there had been a serious incident. At Milton Keynes County Court in December, Lean and Power were told they would be forcibly evicted from their homes. Their time has now run o…

"This is the moment an apparently frustrated police officer tried to pull a head camera from a cyclist after being outsmarted in a row over a traffic fine. After being stopped for allegedly jumping a red light on Edgware Road, Central London, the biker refuses to give his details, telling the policeman that he is not obliged to do so. The officer, known only as PC Stout, then threatens the man with arrest citing IDCOPPLAN as a law when in fact it is a police guideline that helps them decide whether or not to make an arrest. However, the biker sticks to his guns, seemingly aware that this is not a law and challenges the officer's knowledge. The cyclist says 'Before I g…
