There is a video to watch at the bottom of the report. It's a quick reaction by the Met officers and the lad was bundled into touch. Great piece of work. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2176424/London-2012-Olympics-Youth-tries-grab-flame-torch-bearer.html

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2176206/Think-cost-bringing-charges-CPS-told-New-guidance-prevented-Terry-debacle.html Awesome. I'm not sure I've understood the CPS properly, but I think this suggests that I can start committing low-value thefts and then go not guilty through the whole process and get away with it - because bringing law to the lawless is just too expensive. I've found the cost of chocolate increasing so if Mr. Starmer has his way, I reckon I could steal about a kilo of chocolate a week and not worry about ever going to court. Brilliant. I need somebody else to work out the maximum amount of chocolate, or breakfast cereal actually, that I can…

Good decision! Man from Essex loses battle to retain guns 3 July 2012 Last updated at 21:32 A court decision to allow a gun owner from Essex to keep his firearms after he was involved in a violent row with his wife has been over-ruled. High Court judges overturned a Chelmsford Crown Court decision to allow Donald Campbell, 63, of Croft House, near Braintree, Essex, to retain his firearms certificate. The High Court heard the row led to armed police being called. The court ruled the original decision was "not rationally based". It over-ruled the recorder's decision, made when sitting with lay justices at Chelmsford Crown Court, to go against the chief constable of …

http://www.telegraph...g-teenager.html Another mis-leading headline by a newspaper. He is NOT a community policeman, he is a PCSO, a PCSO is a civilian with a uniform, with limited powers, and not in the slightest way a police officer. Telegraph, please get a grip, and don't class PCSO's as Police Officers, they are NOT.

Ian Tomlinson death: PC not guilty PC Harwood denied Mr Tomlinson's manslaughter and maintained his actions were proportionate A police officer who hit Ian Tomlinson with a baton and pushed him to the ground at the G20 protests has been found not guilty of manslaughter. PC Simon Harwood, 45, of south London, denied the manslaughter, in April 2009, of Mr Tomlinson, 47, on the grounds that he used reasonable force. Mr Tomlinson, was pushed as he walked away from a police line in the City of London. He later collapsed and died. His family cried as the verdict was delivered at Southwark Crown Court. I spotted the headline on the way into a local petrol station and have just read the article online. Now I have a question or two as this is obviously culturally acceptable within Staffs police and no doubt in most forces. Why do these officers feel that they are above the law? The public are expected to keep to the speed limits and receive points on their licences, fines and increased insurance premiums when caught. The law is the law after all. I get the fact that a percentage of these will be responding to incidents that require a prompt response. The others though are just breaking the law. In the article it says that those who offend are treated in the same way …

Police are investigating comments made against footballer Ashley Cole on social networking site Twitter, just days after his teammate John Terry was cleared of racism. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/news/9405334/Police-called-in-over-choc-ice-Twitter-comment-directed-at-Ashley-Cole.html When Police have nothing better to do, maybe you will have time for this crap. Under-resourced, more cuts coming, and a black bloke calling another one a choc-ice. Hard to fight the stupidity.

Fed up: Two in five female cops have thought about quitting as morale plunges, inquiry reveals Many complained about their battle to juggle childcare arrangements with police work Nearly half of female police officers have thought about leaving the force, a major inquiry has revealed. And the country’s former top cop has described the findings as “very, very worrying”. Ex-Met chief Lord Stevens said the plunging morale among female officers emerged in a survey showing two in five had considered quitting. Leading an inquiry into the future of policing in England and Wales, he told the Sunday Mirror: “It is crucial that we address this problem. “The Government needs …

A police chief and his wife were today charged with perverting the course of justice after she allegedly accepted speeding penalty points on his behalf. Acting Deputy Chief Constable of Leicestershire Police, Gordon Fraser, 48, was alleged to have been behind the wheel of a car when it was registered as going over the speed limit in Scotland. His wife Teresa, 42, is accused of accepting the penalty points on his behalf and claiming she was behind the wheel. Today, the Thames and Chiltern Crown Prosecution Service said the couple would appear before St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Friday to formally face the single charge of perverting the course of justice. Baljit Ubhe…
