Just heard on the BBC News that two Met Police Officers are being investigated by PSD, because at the Olympic venue they put a ''We have met the Met'' sticker, on a South Wales Police Dog Van. One officer is a Constable and the other is his Supervisor, it didn't say what rank. It appears to me that some Jobsworth wants to find himself/herself something better to do for reporting them to PSD. These stickers were going around during the Miners Strike and never caused a problem. Some people have no sense of humour, and it's usually those above the rank of Chief Inspector.

A Labour Party candidate due to stand as a police commissioner has been forced to step down after admitting a minor criminal offence as a child. Bob Ashford, 59, was hoping to become the Police and Crime Commissioner for Avon and Somerset police. But he has been barred from standing for the post after he admitted being part of a group of boys who shot at cans with an air gun in 1966. Mr Ashford, of Frome, Somerset, claims he did not touch the gun, but pleaded guilty to two charges relating to the misdemeanour at court, where magistrates fined him £5. Mr Ashford said: 'Whilst stepping down I intend to fight this ruling to the highest level, not just because of the impact …

An anti-social behaviour officer who helped get rid of the neighbours from hell has been given a special award for her work. Tracie Gilbert, of the Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust, spent years working on the case of an Aylesbury mother and son who made life a misery for people in Fremantle Road. Tina Lean and Jamie Power rang 999 more than 800 times in three years and harassed and threatened neighbours. Despite efforts by Ms Gilbert, the Trust’s anti-social behaviour strategic manager, and others to resolve the situation, the case eventually wen…

Robert Fuller will be awarded with a commendation and £350 for his “public spiritedness” after stepping in to try to calm down an argument that then led to his neighbour being stabbed in his neck and arm with a seven-inch knife. Mr Fuller and his wife were on hand to call an ambulance and helped the injured man, Nick Chesham, into their home where they used tea towels in an attempt to stem the severe bleeding. The couple were woken up in the early hou…

Is a well known term for mass shootings in areas that are designated as "gun free" zones. There are a billion threads on the Internet concerning the phenomenon, most of which use the USA as an example as they appear to have a gun problem. Many people say that if the guns were removed then so would be the problem but is that really the case? The link below suggests otherwise. I would like to hear your opinions on this. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/8676613.stm This was a link from the BBC that I found when someone posted this http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-china-19091840 on another forum that I am on. If the government doesn't stop its programme of cutting police jobs, if it doesn't make a real effort to help problem families and if it doesn't turn around long-term youth unemployment there's nothing to say that riots will not hit the country again this summer, Labour has warned. http://www.publicservice.co.uk/news_story.asp?id=20530&utm_campaign=HomeAffairs070812&utm_source=emailCampaign&utm_medium=email&utm_content= "more still needs to be done to learn the lessons and take action to prevent it ever happening again. " Oh but it will, !! After all Police have done so far in order to stop further cuts, this gorvenment has chosen to continue on regard…

West Mercia Police apologise over rape campaign poster An anti-rape charity said the posters put the blame on the victim West Mercia police has apologised for a poster campaign which an anti-rape charity called "inappropriate." Worcestershire Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre claimed the Safe Night Out campaign blamed victims who had been drinking for sexual assault. Jocelyn Anderson, from the centre, said: "It's not alcohol that causes rape, although it's a vulnerability factor, it's rapists that cause rape." The poster appeared in pubs in the force area in July. Det Supt Ivan Powell said: "If the campaign has caused distress, that was not our aim and I will a…
