For the full story please use the following link. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/police-inspector-faces-private-prosecution-10042917 I hope the force gives the Inspector it's FULL support and not use him as a convenient scapegoat. I can't for one moment believe that legal advice from the force solicitors wasn't sought about the possible consequences of this action. Wish him all the best and hope this is resolved quickly.

A conglomerate of Liverpool businesses will pay for two police roles in the city centre Two police posts will be funded by firms in Liverpool to conduct patrols in the city centre. The Liverpool BID Company, which represents more than 1,500 businesses, said it had agreed to give funding to Merseyside Police for the officers. The group said it will be the "first" police team for a Business Improvement District (BID) in the UK. The new roles were "additional" to the current policing, said Supt Mark Wiggins, of Merseyside Police. The new officers, who will be on duty daily, will work directly with the BID Company to address "city centre issues such as aggressive beggars,…

I don't understand how the female barrister can make an allegation of sexism against a male lawyer who sends a message on a mobile phone complimenting the barrister regarding her looks. I think that it was unprofessional of him to send the message in the first place, but that's about it. Surely, he was simply paying her a compliment, nothing more, nothing less. From the reports I've read, there was nothing dirty or smutty about the message. I know lots of women who would be flattered to receive such a message.

A police officer has been sacked for gross misconduct after posting numerous offensive and pornographic images on his personal Twitter accounts. PC James Ferguson, a patrol officer in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, denied the charges at a misconduct hearing on Wednesday. He was dismissed without notice. Deputy Chief Constable John Campbell, of Thames Valley Police, said PC Ferguson's behaviour fell short of the high standards expected. "I hope that his dismissal sends a strong message to the public that we will investigate all reports of misconduct and deal robustly and swiftly with anyone who is found to have breached the standards expected," he said. http://www.…

POLICE Scotland have been criticised after an armed police officer was spotted buying a kebab in a Glasgow takeaway on Saturday night. It follows a string of controversies where police officers wearing side-arms have been spotted buying sandwiches. Last October, Sir Stephen House, Police Scotland’s beleaguered, outgoing Chief Constable, said armed officers would only be deployed when “firearms offences are taking place or where there is a threat to life”. For full story please use the following link. http://www.thenational.scot/news/armed-police-officer-criticised-for-taking-gun-into-kebab-shop.7319 They just won't let this issue go, daft thing is the overt car…

The easy cuts have been made so any further cuts will have to have a deep effect on man power with a 20% cut in officer numbers. Penning has made his usual banal cut and paste response which I've heard so often that I can almost quote it off by heart, but at the same time he is quoting falling crime figures serious assaults and off weapon offences creeping up, RTCs and death/injuries on the roads are going up, and at the same time specialist departments are creaking under a load of historic sexual assaults. At the same time the population is increasing rapidly with challenges of language and different habits and traditions to address. Lastly the rank hypocrisy of the …
