A little over a week later, Nero is expected to return home this weekend. "Given time, with the right rest and care, Nero should be able to make a full recovery," police said. The dog was with handler PC Clive Warncken of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire dog unit, when the accident happened in the early hours of Thursday 21 July. PLANS to put a special constable in every parish in Essex have been branded a “publicity stunt” by the county’s police union boss. Speeding bikers have been banned from driving after "juvenile behaviour" Six motorbike riders who filmed each other performing wheelies and reaching speeds of up to 146mph have been banned from driving. The group used two cameras to film themselves travelling from Bedford to Hatfield in 2014. Judge John Plumstead told St Albans Crown Court they "treated other road users like they were obstacles in a video game". "It was an incredible display of idiocy," he said. Prosecutor Miles Trigg said the journey, which began at the car park of Go Outdoors in Norse Road, Bedford, was recorded on two GoPro cameras that Matthew Langley had attached to his bike. There will be extra police patrols at railway stations across Yorkshire as part of a crackdown on "alcohol-fuelled anti-social behaviour". British Transport Police (BTP) said additional officers would be at Hull, Leeds and York stations. The patrols will take place in the evening as people arrive for a night out. BTP said similar patrols in other areas had resulted in a "significant drop in instances of anti-social behaviour". The officer in charge of Operation Stronghold, Insp Gary Jones, said it was "about reassuring the public". "Put simply, Op Stronghold Is about having officers at key locations at key times to reduce crime and keep the travelling public safe,"…
