A police billboard campaign which shows how a ruthless gang will age behind bars has been unveiled as a thank you to the people whose evidence led to their convictions. Self-styled 'General' Joyce will grow old in jail, thanks to the public Six witnesses came forward to give evidence against two leaders and nine other members of the Gooch Gang, who brought chaos to the streets of Manchester with gun running and drug dealing. Colin Joyce, 29, and Lee Amos, 33, received life sentences for their involvement in the killings of Ucal Chin and Tyrone Gilbert, who had links with the rival Longsight Crew. A police constable whose name appeared on a leaked list of British National Party (BNP) members has been sacked, Merseyside Police said. Pc Steve Bettley's name was on a document listing details of 12,000 BNP people which was published online. Merseyside Police conducted an investigation into the allegation and concluded he had "knowingly been a member of the BNP". Mr Bettley denied being a party member and will appeal against his dismissal. Officers and police staff are banned from joining or promoting the BNP. The officer, who was briefly the driver for chief constable Bernard Hogan Howe, had been suspended from duty since the list became public last November.…

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11...r-mats-OAP.html I joined the facebook group cause "Knives don't belong on our streets" and I discovered this story. Since I saw that man that started an anti knife crime charity on behalf of his murdered son, it is something I've felt strongly about and I can't help saying "People need to stop carrying knives, it needs to stop, now."

Father-of-two beaten to death by gang after police ignore six 999 calls from victim and neighbours A father-of-two was beaten to death by drunken thugs after police told him they were too busy to help. James Straiton, 59, and his neighbours dialled 999 six times while the gang were threatening to smash their way into his flat. But operators said the force was experiencing a ‘high volume’ of calls and suggested they call a non-emergency number. Mr Straiton, a taxi driver, then armed himself with a hammer and went outside to chase away the thugs himself. He was …

Not sure if the 48 hour walkout by 150 support staff, which was due to start at 07:00 this morning has gone ahead in London and Birmingham. Football fans going to the FA Cup semi-finals have been warned of potential travel problems due to a strike by British Transport Police support staff. The 48-hour strike by 150 civilian staff at BTP control centres will go ahead after talks failed. This has led to union warnings of problems on the London Underground, but the BTP denies this, saying that there will be "robust arrangements" in place. Both semi-final matches are to be played at Wembley Stadium. Chelsea play Arsenal on Saturday, and Manchester United take on Ever…
