http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/8026661.stm Metropolitan Police (Met) officer has resigned over inappropriate comments on a website about the G20 protest, acting Deputy Commissioner Tim Godwin said. He revealed the resignation during a public meeting over the policing of G20 protests in London. Protesters heckled and jeered Mayor Boris Johnson who said that officers in general had done a "fantastic job". Two officers were later suspended and one of them was interviewed on suspicion of manslaughter. The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) questioned the officer under caution over the death of Ian Tomlinson, 47, who died apparently after bein…

http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/UK-News/A...gland_And_Wales Police use of anti-terror stop and search powers trebled last year, figures show. Good, add several more percentages to the numbers given, and we may come close to getting the crap off of our streets. "This is the fourth year in a row that the total number of stop and searches has increased." And next year i hope it will be the fifth increase. This story can i think be interpreted a pro-Police story, thou on paper it does not look that way. WD to our boys and girls in blue out there. :smiley_notworthy: :smiley_notworthy: :smiley_notworthy:   And one good reason to continue stop and …

http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/display...cked_online.php CRIME victims will be able to track what happens to convicted criminals in their area using a new online service, it was reported today. Good, now to find the ###### who cut me up on the motorway last night. If not for my talents, that would have been a huge mess to clean up. More on this story http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11...stice-done.html

Stop knocking the police... you may need them one day By Michael Winner How absolutely extraordinary it is that ‘police bashing’ has taken over the nation. I understand the police make mistakes. Who doesn’t? In the heat of being vilified and attacked, police officers sometimes over-react. Who wouldn’t? But where would we be without them? There would be chaos, anarchy, disaster. The frenetic mobs that taunt and attack the police under the name of protest and freedom of speech would devour us all. How many officers were defending property and citizens in the City at the G20 riots earlier this month? Four thousand or so. How many may have stepped over the line under i…

Sorry if this is a repost but came across this and thought I would share it. In the wake of the Braidwood inquiry into the tasering death of Robert Dziekanski at Vancouver's YVR airport, an incident at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Southern California makes it clear just how easily some police rely on energy weapons to do their jobs. At the festival on April 17, 23-year-old Johnathan Felch of San Luis Obispo, who has since become known around the world as the "Naked Wizard", was collared by police when he removed his clothes. Seemingly inebriated but most definitely not violent, Felch refused to put his robes back on, flinging them into the crowd as p…

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11...ary-school.html A council in east London has become the first in the country to introduce a borough-wide weapons screening programme in schools. Have our schools really got this bad, besides this story http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11...rd-cleaner.html Where no amount of screening would help.

Police 'pay protester informers' Police are using hundreds of paid informants inside protest groups to "feed them intelligence", according to evidence handed to the Guardian. The paper says it has obtained tapes of discussions between men claiming to be undercover officers from Strathclyde Police and a Plane Stupid activist. The recordings appear to show money being offered for information. Strathclyde Police said officers had spoken to the group and the force had a responsibility to gather evidence. The Guardian says the recordings were made during meetings between Strathclyde Police and Matilda Gifford, an activist with environmental protest group Plane Stupid, whi…
