http://express.co.uk/posts/view/97326/Form...ll-for-overtime POLICE overtime cost the taxpayer nearly £500million last year as more officers found themselves tied up in red tape. "“There’s been a vast increase in red tape in recent years and police should be allowed to go back to their primary purpose of fighting crime.â€" Isn`t this government policy, as many layers of government , and as many quangos as the country can afford. Hence more red tape.

Personally I don't think prisoners should get the vote. Some may disagree, but I don't want to argue the rights and wrongs here. Even if preventing prisoners from voting is wrong, even if these people have not only broken the law but broken it so badly as to be sent to prison, then it is not a breach of human rights. Torturing people is a breach of human rights; mass forced migration is usually going to be a breach of human rights. We are loosing our grip on the distinction between human rights and mere good policy decisions, so that people think that a poor government decision or an incorrect government decision is therefore a breach of human rights. I also find it …

Apart from the cowardly nature of the assaults themselves probably the most disturbing feature of the G20 assaults is that there are always plenty of policemen standing round watching who did nothing. The cases only came to light because they were caught red-handed on camera by members of the public. If you saw another policeman assaulting a woman with a baton or attacking someone from behind would you report them?

http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/ho...icle2399466.ece PRISON bosses have sparked fury by giving a runaway paedophile his own microwave — because he’s Jewish. I should become Jewish, then i get a free microwave, or do i have to abuse kids first? And BTW i get this feeling that there must be something in the Jewish books that says something about, No hitting on kids.

Police have surrounded a man inside a car in Birmingham city centre with "canisters" surrounding his body and his hands bound. Fire crews, an Army bomb disposal team and negotiators with West Midlands Police are at the scene in Saltley. Ch Supt Tom Coughlan said it was unclear whether the man was conscious and whether he was there of his own accord or was a victim of crime. A police cordon has delayed trains at the city's New Street rail station. Some people have been evacuated from their homes and were being offered shelter at Saltley Leisure Centre by the local authority, police said. The incident at the junction of Clarel Avenue and Landor Street started just…

http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/UK-News/P...rotester_As_Spy An environmental protester has claimed that police offered her money to become a spy and inform on other members of her organisation. They make out this is a bad thing, i see no reason why it should be, get the info any way the Police can. If the Police need me to inform on these people, and pay me, i would accept.

Inquiry into 'police punch' film A police force is to begin a misconduct inquiry after footage showing an officer apparently punching a football fan was posted on YouTube. The amateur footage shows Hampshire Constabulary officers wrestling with a struggling man after Southampton's home game against Charlton on 4 April. The footage appears to show one officer punching a fan in the back three times. Hampshire Constabulary said it had been trying to keep rival fans apart and that three people had been arrested. The three were held during and immediately after the match on suspicion of "public order and breach of the peace type offences", police said. The force sa…

Following lobbying by the Scottish Police Federation, ACPOS has agreed to increase the Special Constabulary Reward in Scotland by £100 to £1100 per annum. This is the first increase since the Reward was introduced nationally in 2006. This amount will be payable immediately and will therefore apply to the 2008/09 Reward year, which is payable now. Well done to the Feds and the Bosses!

Jack Night, a serving police officer, won the Special Prize for Blogs for his blog, NightJack - An English Detective. The judges said: “Getting to grips with what makes an effective blog was intriguing – at their best, they offer a new place for politics and political conversation to happen. The insight into the everyday life of the police that Jack Night’s wonderful blog offered was – everybody felt – something which only a blog could deliver, and he delivered it brilliantly. It took you to the heart of what a policeman has to do – by the first blogpost you were hooked, and could not wait to click onto the next one.†In particular his Manoeuvres In the …
