Considering this was a derby game between Liverpool and Everton. If the accounts of 2 PCSOs being the only presence in the road its shocking. Maybe its time the SC was deployed closer to the ground, rather than being deployed soley to the car parking areas several streets away from the grounds in Merseyside. People (Senior Officers) may say the SC in Merpol doesn't have the level of Public Order training needed, however compared to PCSOs they are better equiped to handle violent situations. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-news/local-news/2011/01/17/football-fan-attacked-and-beaten-on-way-to-merseyside-derby-match-100252-27998427/

Kenny McKaskill has thrown his weight behind calls for a single unified force in Scotland, hot on the heels of the last government's attempts to merge several English county forces. News in The Scotsman I live in Cumbria, where the Chief Constable fully supported the proposal (in public at least), but there was opposition from some of the public who feared rural bobbies would end up policing the Lancashire conurbations, leaving us exposed to the ravishes of Lancashire and Merseyside criminal bands! Cumbria also has regular contact across the border, where laws and policies differ widely - we even have a river with tow sets of laws governing it's fishing policies in reg…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-12170502 Police forces could be encouraged to introduce a fast track recruitment scheme, a minister has suggested. Lets see, i think Sargent in Traffic Police will be good for me, 4 months to train, 2 months in the job, within 6 months a Sargent, sounds good to me.

A police officer was seriously injured when she was hit by a car in Oxfordshire. The roads policing officer was knocked down as she was helping the driver of a broken down van on the A34 near Kidlington at 2000 GMT on Thursday. A 63-year-old man from Leicestershire was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving and was released on bail until 8 February. The northbound carriageway was closed for several hours. Investigators have inspected the scene and Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses. BBC News I hope she has a quick recovery. It's a horrible stretch of road there, with no hard shoulder, numerous very short slip roads and very fast traff…

Too right, I whioleheartedly agree with this - he has 20 concurrent life sentances for 13 murders and 7 attempted murders and he thinks he should be allowed out again? I'm glad the judges refused his appeal. To me if you take more than 1 life then you should serve a true Life sentance not 'we say life sentance but if you behave yourself you'll be let out in 18 years time'

So the murderer decides to try a spot of robbery. Lock him up for good! The man who murdered headmaster Philip Lawrence in west London has been recalled to prison after being arrested for an alleged robbery. Learco Chindamo was freed in July, 15 years after the killing in Maida Vale, and allowed to remain in Britain. Father-of-four Mr Lawrence, 48, was fatally wounded after going to help a pupil who was being attacked by a gang, which included Chindamo, then aged 15. Chindamo, now 30, was arrested in Catford, south London. A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "We can confirm that a 30-year-old man was arrested [on Wednesday morning] on suspicion of robbery. "The allege…
