http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-12080487 CCTV cameras across London help solve almost six crimes a day, the Metropolitan Police (Met) has said. Det Ch Insp Mick Neville, who heads the Met's identification unit, said CCTV images were "treated like fingerprints and DNA" by the force. The number of suspects who were identified using the cameras went up from 1,970 in 2009 to 2,512 this year. Earlier this month campaign group Big Brother Watch criticised the rise in the number of CCTV cameras. The group said the cameras were "a ubiquitous feature on Britain's streets". The number of cameras in Britain has gone up from 21,000 in 1999 to 59,753 in 2010, i…

Gerry McCann was made a suspect in his daughter Madeleine's disappearance after a British expert said he should be investigated for 'homicide', a Portuguese court heard yesterday. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12...l#ixzz0fEFUFLfW I have always found it hard to as to what to make of this one. For some reason the Mcannes have always appeared to me like that bloke in the Soham murders, (wrongly i am sure) very forward, and to willing to hand over to the press information, thou i can see their point in doing so. As in the more info they give out, the longer it stays in people`s minds, and the more likely a better outcome. These people have been through…

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/topics/weather/8219287/Man-arrested-for-throwing-snowball.html A man has been handcuffed and hauled into court for throwing a snowball at a police officer. Some obvious advice from me, do not throw anything at Police officers. Just a thought, is the Telegraph starting to sound like the daily mail?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-12073524 More than 1,800 websites selling counterfeit or non-existent goods have been shut down by police. The websites were offering items including Premier League tickets, Ugg boots, Tiffany jewellery and Timberland clothing. Shoppers who paid for the goods either received faked items or nothing at all. Police said the sites were run by organised criminals and generated millions of pounds. Nominet, which handles domain name registrations ending in .uk, assisted with the crackdown. The Metropolitan Police said they saw an upsurge in counterfeit web crime over the Christmas period. Det Insp Paul Hoar…

Any thoughts on this one? I think people are being a bit too harsh on that day and there was room for human error. Like it was said it was a good example on how to take measures for future operations.

Asylum seeker who left girl, 12, to die after hit-and-run can stay in UK Read more: http://www.dailymail...l#ixzz18NuV4h1a Oh goody, we are to keep him. Seems like Police might be wasting their time attempting to put away convicted murderers, maybe only go after softer targets, more black and white ones. How about our Human rights, that`s right, yours and mine, not to have this nasty bit of work roaming around killing the innocent. "Since his release from prison he has accrued a string of further convictions, including more driving offences, harassment and cautions for burglary and theft." Our human rights to be rid of this cretin.
