POLICE in Bolton will be trained to be more approachable and polite — after taking advice from retail giant John Lewis. http://www.thebolton..._with_a_smile_/ Problem, if a Police officer looked at me with a smile, my first thoughts are. The threat to the UK overall remains where it has been for the past year at the second-highest level, "severe". Security officials are stressing the change is precautionary. Visible presence The overall national threat level at severe means a terrorist attack is highly likely. Clicky This could have happened for a number of reasons, and to be fair I am sure there are a lot of young, blonde women in the Wiltshire area... perhaps they are all being harassed???? Or maybe, they too have committed RTOs or have intel on their vehicle...??? The first time police pulled Jessica Haddrell's car over for a roadside spot check, she was happy to co-operate. When it happened twice more within the space of a month, however, she began to regard the officers' concerns for her safety as something of a nuisance. Now the charity worker has written a letter of complaint, claiming she may have been singled out by the three separate 'middle-aged' policemen becau…

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1343574/Police-forces-urged-stop-wasting-cash-pointless-slogans.html What is everybody's opinion on this? The policeman blinded by Raoul Moat says he feels let down by the organisation which should have supported him after the event. Pc David Rathband was shot in the face by the gunman in July. He claimed the Police Federation had left him to "fend for himself" on his road to recovery. The recently-appointed chairman of the Northumbria branch said he was aware there had been some issues and would be arranging a meeting. Pc Rathband, who has been fitted with a prosthetic eye, said: "People seem to think the emergency services are paid extremely well, and yes they might be paid well, but the risks are high. "I've lost both eyes and officers day in and day out have that sam…

INSPECTOR Erik Sherwood has taken the concept of the thin blue line to another level. Having undergone more than 80 hours under the needle, the policeman is swapping fighting crime for modelling at a high-profile tattoo convention. The inspector, who has been based in Hester's Way for more than three years, is jetting off to Milan to show off the skills of county tattoo artist Alan Hale. During the show, which involves 200 of the best tattoo artists in the world, Erik will go under the needle – this time adding a Japanese-style tattoo – giving people the chance to watch Alan at work.
