Gang injunctions launched in England and Wales By Dominic Casciani Powers to restrict the movements of people accused of gang membership have come into force in England and Wales. Gang injunctions can now be used to ban people from wearing certain colours - or even walking aggressive dogs. The powers are similar to anti-social behaviour orders and were conceived by the former Labour government after appeals from councils for help. Ministers say the injunctions should not replace prosecutions of gang members involved in violent crime. Police and local councils can seek gang injunctions in the county courts against adults who they believe are involved in gang-relat…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-12324973 Out of 13,157 police officers tested for illegal drugs in the past two years, just 27 were positive, according to Jane's Police Review magazine. The Metropolitan Police carried out the most tests, 2,154, and recorded the most positives, 11. Drugs detected included cannabis and cocaine. Most were subject to random tests, although a small number were targeted following tip-offs. Police chiefs say officers are disciplined if caught taking drugs. The lead officer on counter-corruption with the Association of Chief Police Officers, Mike Cunningham, said: "Where any officer is found to have taken drugs they may face discipli…

Gang injunctions could ban suspected members from wearing distinctive colours or entering rival territory. http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2011/jan/31/uk-gang-members-face-restrictions First off, is this yet another attempt of the government to stop the violence, when we know it is not going to work? "or entering rival territory" So we now admit that parts of the UK belong to the gangs, we are no longer allowed to walk in these areas for fear of upsetting the local hoodlums. A chimp mentality, or indeed a Lion mentality, stay out of our area or else. Some animals urinate to mark out their territory, are we expecting this example of animal behaviour in a street near u…

Saw this recently... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12...se-picnics.html I don't remember searching vehicles as part of the breath test procedure. I also remember carrying a swiss army knife on my utility belt for the best part of fifteen years.

http://www.bbc.co.uk...cation-11726822 There have been clashes between demonstrators and police in London, as students and lecturers protest against plans to treble tuition fees and cut university funding in England. After that demonstration i now side with these hooligans. Yes you have convinced me that tuition fees should not be trebled, maybe quadrupled instead. Well someone has to pay for the damage, students can. So you not get your own way, best bet, take your frustrations out on the Police. The two Officers injured i am sure we hope are ok, as these soapy characters run riot in our streets. Do the Police seem outnumbered in this demonstration?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-12315878 The number of safer neighbourhood police in London may be reduced by almost half, the Metropolitan Police has said. Half we were not told about, what was said Lordship ward, New river ward and Brownswood ward might be brought together, which would loose four PCSO`s and they wish to become Police officers anyway. Considering the Olympics are already attracting Police attention Police Declare War On 2012 Ticket Touts http://web.orange.co.uk/article/news/police_declare_war_on_2012_ticket_touts Reducing numbers hardly seems the way to go.
