POLICE were today investigating a second shooting in a Birmingham suburb in less than 24 hours. The shooting was reported at about 9pm yesterday (16) in Lea Hall. It’s thought to be linked to a drive-by shooting in Kitts Green Road at 12.30am yesterday. PC Philip Pratt, aged 26, was injured by a vehicle as he attempted to introduce diversions at the scene of an earlier accident. Roger Tobola, 51, of Whites Road, Southampton, was disqualified for six months after admitting three offences. His Yamaha XJR had no front registration plate but motor patrol officers identified him due to his clothing and helmet. Tobola was fined £750, £35 costs and a £15 victim surcharge. Police are investigating an incident captured on CCTV which appears to show its officers punching a man who had been stabbed in a Liverpool park. Darren Grace, 31, was found suffering head injuries and stumbling around Stanley Park on 1 August. Merseyside Police said when officers tried to treat his wounds he became violent towards them. The footage, which was captured on council cameras, shows him being pinned to the ground and punched in the face. An off-duty paramedic pretended to be special constable to stop a speeding motorist because his experience treating road crash victims made him resent reckless drivers, a court heard. Andrew Peach, 39, used a flashing blue light on his unmarked emergency paramedic vehicle to make the speeding motorist stop, a court heard. Tarmac lorry overturns on M3 in Surrey Traffic has been forced to a standstill on the northbound M3 in Surrey after a lorry carrying hot Tarmac crashed. The surfacing material spilled across all three lanes and the hard shoulder when the lorry overturned, then set. Between 10 and 15 vehicles were involved in the crash, between junction three for Bagshot and Lightwater and junction two for the M25. The Highways Agency said special equipment was being brought in to remove the Tarmac. Police, fire crews, the ambulance service and the Highways Agency attended the scene.
