From Evening Standard http://www.thisislon...man-on-train.do If the story is as reported, I think everyone can understand how the police ended up tasering him. But to have to wait for a phone call after the event instead of someone coming up after the event and just saying "Sorry mate, we thought you were the attacker" is a bit much. Sort of reminds me of the line from Four Lions "We shot the right suspect, then the wrong suspect exploded".

I have just started reading the APA Response to: The Review of Remuneration and Conditions of Service for Police Officers and Staff. I am not all the way through yet but so far it makes for some scary reading and if they are to get their way with these plans then staff and cops can get ready for the worst. It seems to me this has been written by people who lost touch with front line policing along time ago... apa-response.pdf

With the IPCC waiting for a Officer to MAYBE hiccup, we all i`m sure hope our Officers stay safe out there, looks like it might get nasty.

Enquiries are ongoing by West Yorkshire Police to trace missing 17-year-old Benjamin Manning. Benjamin, known as Ben, who lives in Swillington, was reported missing on Saturday morning by his mother after he failed to return home from a night out in Wakefield. Ben had been dropped off in the city centre by his mother and had been to watch his friend’s band play a gig in The Black Flag on Smyth Street. However he was reported missing on Saturday after he failed to return home. Ben’s family and police are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare, as his disappearance is out of character. The police who are afraid of the dark: Officers won't patrol yob-plagued park after 8pm By Andrew Levy Last updated at 10:58 PM on 27th January 2011 Comments (416) Add to My Stories In the line of duty, police officers routinely risk life and limb in all sorts of dangerous situations to protect and serve. So patrolling an area plagued by teenage yobs should be child’s play by comparison. But constables and PCSOs have been banned from keeping the peace at an adventure playground at night because it is considered dark and dangerous. A senior officer told stunned councillors there would be no patrols after 8pm at newly-built Waterlees …
