hi, how well are special constables utilised in west mercia? What would be the most common role they are expected to perform? what further training is open to specials? e.g public order, advanced driving also purely out of interest is there a map avaliable showing the borders of west mercia and is the PR 24 still issued? cheers

Is it worth contacting vetting too find out progress or just hang on it been nearly 3 months since assessment day

hi can someone tell me once vetting has been cleared and medicals etc when we start training for the specials do we wear own clothes or a uniform and whats the training like is it at Worcester HQ and at preferred police station or just Worcester HQ. thanks

Evening all Just wondering after i have completed training and got my warrant card/uniform etc will i be able to clock in at 2 stations? The reason i ask is i live in Fernhill heath which is under Wychavon so i know that my station that i will be posted will be Droitwich but will i be able to clock in at Worcester? Its just that i was born and bread in Worcester and i know it like the back of my hand and the change will be nice too (plus i get to see my brother who is posted at Worcester ) Thanks in advance.

Hi I have sent my application form off and was wondering what the training is like for West Mercia and how long it lasts? As well as this I was also wondering what the standard uniform issue would involve for specials? thanks!

Today i recieved a letter saying that i had failed vetting. Im devastated. A years hard work seems to be a all a waste of time. I was arrested for a broken window which i fell against back in 1994. I paid for the window to be made safe and also for a full repair and any damages and was not charged with any offence. I regretablley failed to put the details on my application/ vetting forms as i did not think i had a criminal record for this. I feel so foolish to have not remembered this event back in my past. Anyone applying to become a special constable, remember be thorough, even ypur Gatso speeding fines need to be listed to prove your integrity. GUTTED
