Student officer training

Hi, I have my final interview for West Mercia coming up and I’m trying to find more info on the training, e.g where regs student officers do their training? I’ve looked on the website and can only find info for SC, I’ve also spoken to the recruitment team and the lady I spoke to didn’t know. Can anyone shed some light on this please? Thanks in advance Vee

Im ERPT. We investigate or own crimes down here, and because CID can't recruit numbers they've decided to refuse certain jobs they deem, not serious enough. Cheeky monkeys. Anyone transferred this way? What's the big differences? Cheers. I would be in S Worcs for mid January

Hello all, I'm Worcester born and bred, but have spent the last 4 years in Dyfed-Powys. Just now have jumped at the opportunity to transfer to West Mercia with the most recent intake. I've got my interview on the 8th June, concerning competencies, knowledge of legislation, and hypotheticals. Is anyone else here going for transfer? Is there any advice I can glean from anyone that has been through this gauntlet already? Nice to meet you, and very much hope to be part of the force in the near future. Charlie

Hi guys, So had recruitment already happened for 2015? I've checked out the recruitment webpage which states "We will be re-opening our next recruitment campaign during 2015". What's the deal? I'd be interested in putting in an application. I'm a Special over in North Wales waiting for recruitment windows to open and the West Mercia area isn't too far for me to uproot to. That is, unless, they only recruit from their Specials / PCSOs / locals? Let me know! Cheers, Ed

Shift patterns

Have just put in to transfer to West Mercia from West Yorkshire as it’s time I came home! Wondering if anyone can confirm current response officer shift pattern? Found a FOI response from last September saying 6 on 4 off but then a BBC article from this month stating that shift patterns have been shaken up to allow more officers on the street. Is it still 6 on 4 off just with amended start/finish times?

Hello everybody. I've been a reader of this forum for the last couple of months and decided it was about time to register. I sent off my application form on the 14th January so I could be expecting to hear back any time soon. I did ring West Mercia Police and they told me I should hear back within 4-6 weeks but I'm really anxious and hope that I have been invited to the assessment centre. I'll be gutted if I haven't made it through the paper sift because I spent a long time handing writing my application. I went through rewriting about 20 pages of my application because it was near impossible to handwrite it without accidentally slipping up a letter with my pen! I li…

Hey guys, Thought I would start a topic just away from the main area to introduce yourself, whether serving, training or app stage or whether you just support our fab constabulary. keep it to just introductions as I don't want it going off track. I'm currently serving as a special constable for C Div, quite new to the team, attested start of August this year. My ambition is to apply for the regs in a couple of years or so. Cali
