I was just wondering if those applying to become a Student Officer with West Mercia Police have had any progression with their applications recently? HR have told me my file is in the process of being signed off so hopefully this will happen soon. Has anyone heard any rumors about new training dates?

Hi all, I was unsuccessful with my written test at the assessment centre, so I have been given the option to retake this test in a few weeks. Is there anything I can do to help me with this? I think I need to learn how to describe a person better, and better structure my witness statement. I've started looking at ADVOKATE, is there any other acronyms to look up? Many thanks.

Good evening all. I recently had my results through, for my West Mercia assessment day. I passed everything but the written test. I felt a little gutted by this, but I don't have to wait the 6 months to reply again. I've been told I will be contacted in the next two months from the team, given some advice on the part I failed at and asked to take the written part only again. Has anyone else had this situation before? Thanks everyone

Yesterday evening I attended my assessment day for the specials at west Mercia. To say it was a day of nerves before hand was an understatement and passive push out of my normal comfort zone. However, if anyone has any before hand nerves I can put your minds at ease! The staff made everyone feel extremely comfortable and at ease. Spending the evening with current specials and meeting new people was a pleasant experience and a reminder of why I want to do this. Save any further questions you have for the evening, as they will be able to answer any think you want to know. Good to all. *positive push, not passive ?

Is anyone been told there on the 21st of May training course? And have you been sent through you're offers yet and induction paperwork? Was told I was on this course and told a week or so before hand would have all paperwork but haven't got anything yet. Have sent a email but didn't get a reply. Just hoping I am still on the course. PIR Test Yes Home Visit No Fitness Test No Medical No Assessment Centre Interview Eyesight Requirement TBC, but probably National Standards Training Induction training consists firstly of a residential weekend at WMC's training complex at Hindlip Hall, Worcester. On successful completion of foundation training officers are issued with uniform and warrant card. Other information Special Constables in West Mercia are issued with the same standard of equipment as their regular colleagues and are fully trained in personal protection techniques.
