Stumbled across this and thought it was a nice little timecapsule!

Curious about how Surrey Police shoulder / collar numbers are? I have noticed when I've been out and about in Surrey that they usually have five numbers with no letters or anything... are these the same numbers as what would be your warrant number?

It's right on the edge of Surrey, and as it doesn't have a dedicated station anymore, only an office in the town hall, do you think it'd be a good idea if it were handed back to the MET? In my view, I think it'd be a good idea as it'd be a lot easier for Kingston and Sutton resources to cover it, than say Redhill units. Purely hypothetical, what do you think? I'll just add that I'm not a serving officer with either force.

Over the last 2 days I have seen some shiney new cars fitted with covert blues. When I saw the first one I thought it might have been a special unit etc. But today I saw uniformed officers in one. Are Surrey moving away from Ford ? I haven't listed what car make or model as these appear to be brand new and probably not widely known about.

Hi there My partner has just got an interview with Surrey Police for a job as a 'Contact centre agent' (call handler). I just wondered if anyone knew what the interview would entail, because the offer letter was not specific - e.g. are there any competency criteria to fill? Many thanks.

Hi, I'm from surrey and current an SC with the met, I was wondering if anyone had any experiences of transferring between the two? Really considering it but not sure how difficult it'll be, I'm very close to being IPS so would wait until I got that..

Hi Surrey Police Folks, As I'm sure some of you might be aware of the impending shake up over the border in the Met. The upshot of this will no doubt be people looking for alternatives outside the borders of the Met. As I'm sure you'll get asked about transfers, and I'm going to pose the same question in other bordering force areas. What are the requirements for transfer for both IPS and non IPS officers? Many of the higher skilled officers will no doubt look to bring some of their qualifications with them. Would Level 3 driving, Level 2 public order or Search be something which could be carried over?
